Doctor took care of my cat who had foreign object in his body. He offered to operate on my cat a day earlier than scheduled just so the cat doesn’t have to suffer one more day. I can’t thank the man enough.

Best vet in town!

We were at La Vista Animal Hospital two weeks ago for the vaccines of my two young dogs. First, let me say that I appreciate the caring heart with which both the visiting vet doctor at that time and his assistant treated us and our dogs. They are young and healthy dogs still getting used to going to the vet. The doctor was great. My complaints below, and thus the three stars of this review, are about the expensive bill and the overall customer service (minus the vet himself, who was not Dr. Walton, father or son).
I was surprised, actually shocked, though, that after our quick visit I was presented with a $700 bill to cover the vaccines plus tests and the check-up. I have to say, I wasn't expecting such an expensive bill and this took me by surprise because, although I did hear the assistant tell me that they would check on their blood and fecal test, nobody informed me first at the reception of the costs of the visit, neither on the phone nor when I checked in. In hindsight, as soon as I got to the office, I should have asked for a breakdown of all that was going to happen and how much every item would be. I think, though, that it's also best practice to communicate this proactively to customers. My model here is the medical model of when I'm a patient myself and they first tell me how much the co-pay will be, how much each test will be, etc., before I consent.
My second surprise was having to pay a surcharge for paying the $700 with a credit card, when I left home not knowing that cash or a cheque could potentially save me some money in this visit... To be exact, they charged me a 3.5% extra processing fee. I doubt I'm the only person now not carrying cash or a checkbook, especially after COVID. I feel honestly "punished" by this extra fee. When I said something, they told me that they have a notice posted on the entrance door. Is that the most friendly way to inform customers?
I don't think that a quick visit for two young and healthy dogs really equaled $700 and I wish I had been informed first of what would happen and how much everything would be, so that I would have thought about it for a second before deciding to go forward - I may have decided to just do the vaccines and possibly skip everything else.
And where are the blood and fecal tests results that they charged me for? Two weeks have passed and I got no email with such information. I've also asked for a digital copy of my dog's vaccines when I was paying for the expensive bill at the counter, they said they could only give me a paper copy at the time...
I reached out to the owners after my visit and before posting this here and they basically said, "sorry that you were disappointed" and "that the 3.5% fee is posted on their door" (sorry for not stopping at the door and reading all the notices!), so I now feel that my business is not appreciated and that I should look for a new vet office where it really is.

I adopted a feral cat that was really hurt 10 months ago. He had a 2 inch hole in his neck. Since then, his poor ears have been terrible just open wound. I went to four different vets and all they kept saying is he’s got mites, he’s got allergies. When I bought him to Dr. Walton, he knew immediately, it was fly strike and he gave me the correct medicine to finally heal this poor cat. And they affordable as well. This is definitely my new veterinary clinic.

Very patient and takes time to explain your furry family member's problem. They are somewhat cozy/comfy with your fur baby and reassuring about their problem

It saddens me to see some people did not have great visits at Lavista Animal Hospital. We have been taking our pit mix here for about two years, and the staff and Dr. Clint have been nothing short of amazing. On some reviews, i see people had surgeries, X-rays, or other services using anesthesia, which I cannot attest to. But, if you are looking for an everyday vet for wellness checks, illness visits, or consultations, this team has always taken great care of our girl. As a pitbull owner, I've noticed many vets in the past treat her differently because of her breed. The staff at Lavista always treats her so wonderfully, and they don't resort to immediately muzzling her due to the breed (she does not require a muzzle and is very well behaved on the table, but vets in the past have taken one look at her and put it on). They've helped us with infections, allergies, vomiting, weight control, anxiety, and just about any other thing you'd bring your pup in for. They are swift and efficient, and I've never waited more than 15 min to be seen. Dr. Clint patiently answers my 100000000 questions, and the front desk is always helpful when I call for any questions after the visit. For those who have said the reception isn't kind, I'd like to ask how you treated and spoke to them that made them react that way. Because never once has the reception staff not been kind, pleasant, and a cherry on top of the service. Those ladies bring a smile to my face when I walk in. They have very standard pricing, I've never felt like they were upcharging for a better profit. I highly encourage anyone in the area to give Lavista a visit. Thanks to the team for your awesome care!

Very unfortunate news that broke our hearts.
We have been going to this vet since 2006 and we have never had a problem until today. Within the last month a cat showed up at our house and we decided to keep it. It was the sweetest cat we had ever met, very laid back and kind to everyone and was totally acclimating to the dogs better than we expected. Over all he was a phenomenal cat and felt very lucky to have found her. We were told my neighbors that it was a female but none of us were knowledgeable enough to know for certain. I took her in to make sure she was healthy and got her shots. They didn't question her being a female what so ever and agree she was female. Everything was fine and I took her home no problem. I scheduled a visit for 2 weeks from that date to get her spayed. Yesterday was the day of her surgery. I was called 30 minutes after the surgery begun to be told that my cat had been opened up to realized that it was a male that had already been neutered. I understand that mistakes happen and they told me he was doing well after the surgery. Flash forward to this morning, I picked him up and went over everything with the vet. I was told that he was doing good and there shouldn't be any issues. Once I got home, I knew something was off. My cat was very lethargic and zoned out. I blamed it on the pains meds like one would think. About 2 hours after bringing him home and keep a close observation on him I noticed he was have whole body twitch's and he was also breathing with his mouth open. I decided to call the vet and they said it was just the pain meds and if he was still acting that way to bring him in in about an hour. 10 minutes after that call my cat fell on the floor and was gasping for air. He stopped breathing and I drove as fast and I could to get to the vet to try to save him. Unfortunately he passed away. I was told he had an allergic reaction to the pain medication. I'm still not at ease with it considering he was already neutered and been under anesthesia and had pain meds before. I put my full trust in them and I felt as if my trust was broken. They were kind enough to reimburse me for all the money I had spent the last two weeks but it doesn't bring my cat back. He was the sweetest kitty and I will forever miss him.

Went to this vet for the first time last weekend cause it's not to far from the house. My dog was breathing a lil funny. They took X-rays( so they claim) and said his lungs and heart are clear and gave medicine cause they said he has gas build up in his tummy which is causing him to breath harder. Gave him the meds til they were gone just like vet said to do and it hasn't helped much. Now I gotta go to another vet and pay hundreds again just to fine out what is really wrong with my dog. Don't go here

We just moved to Atlanta, and I was excited for a small bet in the neighborhood to take great care of my dog. I took her here twice with a bleeding nose, and the vet said it was just allergies, which wasn’t getting any better. After a second opinion, we found out it’s a tumor in her head, and this vet cared more about pushing me out of the office and taking my money, rather than addressing my issue. Horrible vet.
