I truly can’t recommend them enough. This is a TRULY locally owned and operated pharmacy. Free local delivery. They are always so attentive and work with you on any insurance hiccups, they do vaccines, they remember their clients. Just amazing.

This apothecary has been a true life-saver for me and my family. They are always quick to respond to my requests. They have honestly come to feel like the most reliable friends!It is frustrating that their hours are limited, but as long as you call while they're open, they have always been quick to help me handle issues that might arise during the hours they're not open.

I grew up in a small town in Middle Georgia and over the years came to find the service and reliability of a small town, independent apothecary to be unmstched when compared to big name stores like CVS and Walgreens.McKinneys is the ONLY in town apothecary that located off of a Marta station.I love this place and will continue to make the monthly trip all the way from Buckhead to Decatur to pickup my Rx so long as it remains open.Thanks for the great service and also for being the only place I don't struggle to get my ADHD meds refilled at.The hours do kinda suck, but it's small price to pay for reliability and people who actually care about you and greet you by name when you walk in.

Once upon a time a nice guy named Doug and a fabulous staff occupied a lovely little apothecary in downtown Decatur. Then mysteriously, the staff and owner disappeared and what happened was nothing short of the Twilight Zone... The replacements were nothing like the beloved group before. They asked a lot of personal questions, seemed suspicious, and really pounded in all of the laws and the ways that they themselves could meet their end. I have been to a lot of independent pharmacies (Ira's will always be EPIC), but not those that hold a communist-era level of paranoia about medications. DRUGS. HABITS...SUSPECTS, Oh my! We were even told that all of our prescriptions needed to be filled there. The problem with that things happen on the weekends, and this new pharmacy doesn't open on weekends. Doug has a pharmacist on-call for emergencies. It's rather condescending isn't it? Many of us are widely educated that visit this apothecary but the interactions with the actual pharmacists would say otherwise. Rule of thumb I guess...don't trust anyone to know themselves or their proper medications. My family's family practice doctors are fed up with having to call them for the slightest things instead of being professional pharmacists they want to talk to the doctor all of the time. The doctor writes prescriptions for the pharmacy to fill. That is their job, But if they can complicate it, they want to talk to the doctor. I don't know how they stay in business because they are only open 40 hours a week! One of our doctors is pretty fed up and wants the practice to change over to other pharmacies too. I wanted to see if it was just a clash but I heard that many complaints are coming into the office. They will spout out rules that other pharmacies won't bother you with. Our family knows the rules already but we are treated like we've just gotten back from cave painting with our clan. We wish the old owner would come back. I know that won't happen, so we are looking for a new pharmacy that carries our diverse meds, instead of being prodded and poked when we're just as busy as they are!!! I guess they must have a ton of customers that leave it unimportant to answer messages or delivery good customer service. The regular tech staff is fantastic. The pharmacists, not so much.

This spot is awesome. Friendly and informative staff who are always happy to help. I love the set up and card section. Staff will go out of their way to make you comfortable and even will deliver in certain situations. I can't recommend this business enough.

Although, they no longer do compounding, they referred me to an excellent compounding pharmacy: Gwinnett Drugs. I appreciate that both businesses answer their phone and provide excellent customer service. These attributes are rare and very much appreciated! Thank you for all you do!

McKinney's is so incredibly welcoming and helpful (and Fast!)... They know their customers and make everything easy. Their store hours are certainly limited compared to other pharmacies, but it's more than made up for in their personal touch, instant pick-ups, and near-instant initial-prescription-fillings.

Skip CVS!McKinneys has great service with little to no wait time in store. Additionally they have an extremely user friendly answering machine for after hours refill needs. Very knowledgeable pharmacists & employees who are invested in answering all of your questions without making you feel like you are taking up to much time. McKinney's is the closest thing to a small town European feeling pharmacy I have encountered state side and in the City no less

What a difference!! We are all tired of the poor service and concern showed at the other franchise drug stores!! Decatur is very lucky to have an amazing alternative.
