We occasionally go here when we need dog treats and for s few other pet-related items. In the last several months, they have been going downhill regarding the quality of the service they offer. I realize staffing is a problem almost everywhere you go, but it still could be improved. We witnessed two store associates get into an argument with each other over going to the bathroom. Every time we go, we have to wait almost ten minutes at the register for someone to come and check us out. I think three stars is a bit generous, but we will go there if we don't feel like driving to a better pet store.

I went into the Dawsonville store this morning around 10am. I found what I needed and went to the check-out. No one was there. I stood there for what seemed like a long time. Finally, I yelled out "HELLO?" and after a bit, Kayla (or was it Kaylee?) sauntered up like she was on a slow stroll through the park. She never apologized for my long wait or even spoke to me at all except to ask for my phone number. When she was done, I thanked her (and really, she should be thanking me for my purchase) and silence. She came across as not wanting to be there and rude. People that work in stores represent the store. I won't be going back. Chewy has 100% of my business going forward.

We had been looking for a ferret to add to our family for months and decided to call this location. They had 1 in stock and actually held her for us since it was a 2 hour ride. The staff was super friendly, the store was super clean and inviting. They answered any questions and even helped pick which supplies we would need or that he recommended. Our little noodle was super happy and healthy. Will definitely be going back in the future

I'll be shopping elsewhere for my expensive (3x) dog supplies and food. Seriously it takes a long time to earn a customer and about 30 seconds to lose one. Congrats!

Went today for some freshwater supplies to include shrimp. Very nice gentlemen helped me out. Was advised they would price match shrimp(ghost shrimp for feeding my BB Puffers). When I got to the register the lady reamed the nice man a new one. Stating they dont match because they take better care of their fish then Petsmart. FACT check....there are always dead fish at Petco and none at Petsmart.

I have made a number of purchases at Petco over the years and have been satisfied with their products and especially the employees. They have been able to answer many questions and had numerous recommendations that were a big help. So you can imagine how disappointed I was with my recent visit to the petco in Dawsonville. Our new puppy has been raiding the trash can in the kitchen and recently I purchased some spray called Natures Miracle which is supposed to be a pet blocker. Well I tested it on a small piece of paper towel. Long story short, the dog ate it. There was no blocking at all. I then decided to take the product back to the store along with the receipt on which the register printed the product could be returned for $14.95. Upon arrival at the store I was told the return policy had been suspended indefinitely. Additionally, the back of the receipt said it had to be returned within 60 days to get a refund. I left the store and called customer service. The customer service supervisor said in fact the refund program was suspended and I should keep the receipt until the policy changes. I said I had made a deal with them as defined on their receipt and they reneged on that deal. They could not give me a date when or if I would get a refund. I will be filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities. I do not recommend doing business with Petco.

Well, first off right when I walked in there was throw up all down one of the isles. I proceeded to go around the grotesque puke and got my dog food. When we got to the counter the only workers were at the fish department feeding fish. We politely said "excuse me" and they just turned and said "your welcome". We waited a bit longer and asked if we could get some help and got no response.

I will never visit a Petco store again. They almost injured my Dog by being careless. Thank goodness my Dogs reflexes are quicker than the groomer. Don’t go to Petco. Visit our local Pet Grooming business. Turner and Pooch Grooming or You Dirty Dog.
