We adopted 2 Fur babies in 2015 and they have been the best dogs to enjoy life with.

The people here really care about animals. There are so many babies here that need good homes. I want them all. MOAS makes neutering and spaying affordable. Please save lives by having your fur babies fixed. There are too many being needlessly euthanized do to overages at shelters.

I adopted my new fur baby from here. The staff are very kind, spend ample time with you to make sure it’s the right fit, and truly care about the animals. Highly recommend getting your new best friend from here!

I went there from my high school during Job Shadowing Day. The experience is wonderful. As a volunteer, you can even play with dogs or cats. Which one is you perfered. You can even pick any dogs, and they will bring a dog for you inside that room. The smell is kinda weird, but you will get used to it after 5-10 minutes.

Disappointed. Found a dog that had been shot. They would not take the dog. Asked us to take the dog to Uga. Dog was stable and they could have helped but did not.

Stopped in today to adopt a cat for my daughter on August 5th 2023, staff acted like they do not want to adopt our animals. Stood there for 30 minutes waiting while other people who came in after got priority. I recommend Athena area humane society, better communication, and they actually want to adopt out animals

We always get our animals slashed and neutered at their clinic. I love the staff and volunteers and I completely believe in the work they do. They obviously really love the animals there.

It was very clean. The girls were super sweet. Even though there was a quarantine, the went back to see if our cat was there. He was not, but we will be back.

This is the worst run animal shelter I have dealt with. I have carried them animals 3 time in 15 years, and every time there is an excuse as to why they cant take in the stray. The need their funding pulled if they arent going to do what they are supposed to. The have also said the were under a quarantine for cats that is no where on the home page of their site or the page dealing with intake, also they have been under quarantine for at least the last 3 years.

So I went in the animal shelter 5 different times to look for my son a dog for his birthday. When I first went in there they had a lot of dogs to see but only a couple were available. The first dog I was interested in they waited until I had gotten attached to the dog and the dog defected on me to tell me the dog was going to a different state. Then I found another dog that I was interested in and when they gave me the adoption paperwork there were way too many questions on it that were way too private for me to feel comfortable answering. You don't need to know what I do aevery day inside my home to be able to sell me a dog. Most horrible experience I've ever had. I will not be back there.
