My daughter loves DPHM sooooo much. She loves to go to school everyday and Ms. Jennifer is so nice and patient. Since they change the new owner, they've made lots of improvement like new floors, new classroom furnitures, etc. Recommended

DPHM has been showing great improvements! The center is renovated and seems really nice and clean. The new staff members are coming in with degrees and credentials. My daughters love their teachers. My PreK child keeps telling me that Ms. Jennifer is the best. I love working here and my girls are enjoying every day here.

My Daughter attended the school for over a year when cyndi was the owner without 1 single issue. And when the new owners and new teachers took over, they ruined the school, making changes like remodeling and ripping out floors which is fine but they did it all while children are still attending school. They then targeted my daughter and kicked her out (a four-year-old), saying it was her behavioral issues which were normal toddler tantrums.... Turns out they are doing it to more children now. When truly, the problem is their staff. The new staff members have not been trained to work at a daycare!!!! Do not bring your children here!!

Update summer 2023: My children no longer go here but I need to make a point that my below review was before the new owner took over. The prior owner, Cyndi, was amazing. I have friends in the neighborhood who have kids still at DPHM and they all say the new owner is not nearly as involved, has significantly raised prices, and they have been looking for other options. Cyndi was so genuine and made sure to HELP parents and kids by being reasonable, staying open, and just being so flexible. The new owner seems to be more of a typical business owner daycare. So please note this review and what I said below is no longer valid.Hands down one of the best Daycares around. Previous to moving to Hamilton Mill, we lived in Sugar Hill and my daughter attended a daycare/summer camp in that area. That daycare was always a hassle as they charged for a full week no matter if the child went for 2 days or 5. Also, they always closed when Gwinnett County Schools closed (due to possible inclement weather, etc). Discover Point Hamilton Mill has been absolutely amazing! They only charge for what the child attends, so if last minute she goes to Grandmas house for a week during the summer, we arent paying for time she isnt even there. Also, they try to stay open even when all other daycares in the area are closed. This is SO IMPORTANT for working parents. Many times the schools will take precautions and close due to the threat of ice or now (which is understandable, I dont want my child on a bus if there is ice)... but us parents still have to go to work! That causes stress, so knowing I can drop my daughter off at discovery point and she will be safe and taken care of while Im at work...its been a huge relief. My daughter loves the before/after program and the summer camp. Is always so excited to go there. The staff is amazing, and the owner is wonderful and so involved (which is a nice change from many daycare owners who are barely involved). Also, just to add, the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. We pay less now than we did in Sugar Hill, and even they were less than some other centers in Gwinnett County. We now have another baby on the way, and the infant prices actually surprised me because they were less than I had expected. Many of our neighbors kids also go to DPHM and it just feels like a big family there. Thank you, DPHM, for all you do!

Not the place to send your kids. Ms. Cyndi was great, said hello and actually cared. Ms. Rita at the front always has an attitude on her face. She is one of the first faces you see when you walk into the daycare, you would think she would put a smile on her face. Nope! The new owners only care about money. My child's PreK teacher never connected with the parents like some of the other teachers did. She barely smiled and seemed to only have negative things to say about my child. She made me feel like she didn't like my child.Would not recommend this place.

We have been using Discovery Point Hamilton Mill since 2019 and are very happy. Things were hard through the pandemic as with most business but there has been amazing improvements over time and especially in the last few months with new floors, paint, decluttering and better snacks/food options. I love that all staff and teachers in the facility know both of my kiddos by name and say hi to them. They know that my daughter has hard time at drop off and they help me transition her so I can leave. I also love the new app that gives me updates about diaper changes, meals and sometimes even pictures from their teachers!

I dropped off my 1 year old for the first day and came back about an hour or two later to drop off his diaper bag. I saw my son sitting on the floor alone crying profusely. He had been crying for a while. One of the caretakers in the room was changing a diaper but the other lady was sitting in another area of the room playing with children who were not crying. I was a bit horrified to see this and sat down with my son who immediately stopped crying once he was in my arms. I had to leave for work so even though I was uncomfortable with the situation, I left him. At no point did the two caretakers talk to me or try to comfort my son who started crying as soon as I got up to leave. I ultimately decided to take him out of this daycare and picked him up an hour later. This was not the loving care that I expect. My son has been to another daycare in Los Angeles and the caretakers were so loving and kind to our son. This was not the experience I had here.

DPHM has been a wonderful place for my boys! The management loves them like their own and all of the teachers have formed a special bond with them. The boys love being with their friends. The new owner has a lot of changes going on that is only going to benefit every child and family member. Some of these changes being lots of cosmetic upgrades, staff accountability, and an overall healthy learning environment for every baby. It's a great place and only seems to be improving!

My daughter started here Jan. 2017, as an infant. The owner at the time, Cyndi, was amazing. She was always available to discuss concerns and stayed in communication with parents about any issues or concerns. Stacey, Val, and the teachers have been absolutely amazing and have loved my child like their own. We were quite happy to keep her there for after school and summer care until she was 12. We recommended DPHM to numerous friends and coworkers, happily. However, a new owner recently took over. She has made it abundantly clear that she has no desire to meet with or get to know the parents of the children there. We got a phone call on the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 21 letting us know that Friday, Feb. 24 was the last day she was willing to provide after school pickup and care for my daughter. The new owner has no regards for the children at this location and only cares about the money. I understand the business decision to not provide this service, my issue is that she gave us parents not even a week to find another facility that not only has an opening, but that provides transportation after school. That time frame is almost impossible, and very unprofessional.

This is the worst daycare. I called them multiple times to take my daughter there, and someone gave me a different answer every time I called. They would say call next week; we may have some openings, then next week,I called again and someone else said there are no openings until August, but I can put you on the waitlist. They took my information, and after a month, I called again for updates, and they told me they did not have a waitlist. I spoke with the director, and she was not very nice when I made her aware of the misinformation I received from her staff. If that is how a director approaches these situations, I am good not taking my daughter there. Take your children to another place where the staff knows how to do their job.

Unfortunately, I recommend you avoid this place if you can about your child's health. All of the ceilings vents are covered in a thick black smut/dirt. One classroom has an industrial air blower going all the time because it smells like the building has a mold/mildew issue. When walking in the building, beware you don't walk through one of the many spider webs with enormous spiders covering the poles and ceiling. Its obviously they don't have any pest control services. The staff is nice enough, but the building should be reported to the health department and unfit for children to be in...in my opinion.
