Sawnee EMC is overcharging its customers who are on the prepaid program! For example , my daily usage is 3.47 but I have been Ben 5.99 on several occasions but my usage hadn’t changed!!!!! They will stop reporting your daily payments for 5-7 days, when they finally post your up to date payments there is no record of 5.99, even though it has been deducted from your credit balance!!!!!! It’s a scam!!!!! If you have been cheated please post a review!!!!!

We've had Sawnee since June 2018 and have always received excellent service. Our power went out in half of our house randomly one Sunday and they sent a contractor out to fix it within a couple hours (ended up being wiring at our meter that needed to be replaced). Also, when other areas around us have lost power during storms, our lights have only barely flickered. I also always get to speak to a person when I call and they're always very friendly. I've never had a negative interaction with Sawnee.

If you want to discontinue load management they cannot give you a date when it will take place. The subcontractor doesn't advise Sawnee or the customer. This equipment continues to cause problems with my a/c unit.

We recently had brown outs at the house. Some of the house had power and the rest of the house had no power. It took a couple visits coming out to catch the problem but each time I called in to Sawnee EMC I had a helpful technician on the phone and crews out to the house quickly. They set me up on a service saver so we had power for the weekend and they are going to send out a crew to replace the underground service wire that has failed. Each time I called Sawnee they had help available during non-business hour times. Thank goodness for Sawnee and their accessibility. The house didn’t seem to have issues during normal business hours. Ha! In the interim, we had TE Certified electricians come put a whole house surge protector on our panel to prevent damage to our appliances when power was inconsistent. You can see one light is dim and the other light is normal. I definitely recommend them to install a whole house surge protector in the event you don’t have one. it was a little over $600 but peace of mind to protect our major electrical systems (AC, furnace, kitchen appliances, TV). Between Sawnee and TE…the house is covered. Thank you!

I updated the valid card and auto payment, but their system is so confusing that did not charge my card for very tricky reason which is design to charge any unnecessary fee from the customers. Very unreasonable and rude customer service.

I'm a 31 year customer of Sawnee EMC & it has been probably 20+ years since I have called their office. I typically just use their website but today, I could not find an answer to a simple question. Their website is not user friendly at all. Instead of posting answers to simple questions, they make you download PDF after PDF, which don't even have the answers you are looking for. After downloading numerous PDF's with no luck, I called "customer service" to inquire about peak & off peak hours. My neighbor has saved a lot of $ doing laundry & other things during off peak hours & I wanted to try it myself. Simple question one would think! I was connected to DOTTIE, who was SO hostile & rude when I asked what the hours were, that I was stunned that a "customer service" representative would speak to any customer, much less a 31 year customer like she did. It's obvious DOTTIE hates her job, hates Sawnee's customers & just hates people in general! She refused to simply give me the peak & off peak hours, instead insisting I go back to the website. I explained nicely that I had downloaded multiple PDF's with no answers & asked if she could just give me the information over the phone. She yelled "MAAM, I AM TALKING" & proceeded to refer me back to the Sawnee website. She then placed me on hold for whatever reason. She came back on the line & gave me the days, hours, months that were peak hours so fast, that I could not write all of the information down as I do not know shorthand. I asked her to "slow down" as I wanted to ensure I had the correct information, "if she could go a little slower." I wrote everything down & she said "excluding July 4th." I said "so would July 4th be peak all day or"....she cut me off before I was finished & yelled "EXCLUDING JULY 4TH" again. I merely wanted to find out if holidays would be peak or off peak but she was SO hostile that I finally asked to speak to a supervisor, hopefully to get answers to my simple question without being abused. She came back & said "it would be awhile as they only have one supervisor after 5p" & when I started to ask for the supervisors name so I could just call back tomorrow before 5p, she hung up on me. I have never been so abused by anyone like I was by DOTTIE, merely for asking a question not even pertaining to my account. Why would a person be in a position whose job description is "helping customers" who absolutely hates those customers? We're all in this crazy world together so why be so venomous to another human being! If you ever call Sawnee & DOTTIE picks up, hang up & call back as DOTTIE is the rudest, most hateful, hostile person I have ever dealt with in my entire life. DOTTIE is not interested in "helping" her customers, you are truly bothering her asking for help & you will suffer her wrath for sure. If she was one of my company ambassadors dealing with my customers, she would be fired as all the training in the world will not change someone who hates people. All over a simple question AFTER I could not get answers on their website. Sawnee should be ashamed to have such a nasty, miserable human being like DOTTIE dealing with their customers. I have not decided if I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but judging by the terrible "customer service" reviews here which do not seem to get better, perhaps I will do just that as at least the bad behavior will have to be acknowledged! What a shame.

I have had service with Sawnee EMC for 30 years and have found their service very reliable, reasonable and great customer service. When they retire bonds, I even get a check since it is a coop. What a bonus. In addition, they damaged my mailbox, left me a note that they would be replacing and who to contact for more information.

Sawnee waste about 15 hr per day of your money for a biscuit, high rate employees 15×$30 per hour daily.

Without scheduling, some contractor shows up, scares my daughter who was home sick. Next day shows up at 8am expecting someone home to let him in. 1. Fails to identify himself both times. 2. None of this was scheduled, just randomly cold call at the door.
People work, have jobs. Showing up when they are not home is bad call and bad practice.
Call SawneeEMC, the supervisor tries to avoid talking pushing back to the poor girl. Supervisor finally gets on the phone and immediately shifts the blame to the subcontractor. So many things wrong on how this company has handled this.
Bad business practice. No explanations other they are there to work on a load management switch as if that makes everything ok.
No, that is a brush-off to make it seem perfectly alright. Their excuse "it just to swap out a load bearing switch" does not absolve them from their monumental fouls on this.
I own, not a rental. Randomly showing up unannounced to make an unannounced change to my property and handle it like this will get the cops called on them.
I did not sign up for this and I did not give my permission for it to be installed.

Reps thru the website chats were extremely efficient. My case had to be escalated and they put me in contact with the right team and my case was resolved in a jiffy! Impressive! Keep up the good work!

Excellent customer service. Wait time to speak to a customer service representative was entirely reasonable. Also, almost every
year they rebate the largess back to us, usually around $90.
Keep up the great work!!
