I went into Coal Mountain Package store to make a purchase, one employee was very helpful, he even walked me over to the product. I went to the register and the old lady began to ring me up, she stated a price that I knew was incorrect, so I asked her to check the amount charged. The price she stated was incorrect, the original employee that was helpful told the lady the correct price. The lady said “that’s what the register rang it up as and I am not changing it” I walked out without to go to another store with proper pricing.Beware of being overcharged at register!! If you buy several items you may not realize. That may be their game!!!

I had a great experience at Coal Mountain Package Store. The selection is impressive, and the staff was super helpful in finding what I was looking for. They've got a solid range of options, and the service was friendly and quick. Definitely a go-to for all your beverage needs!

Really nice store and close to home. Staff is friendly. They have a good selection and I can call in an order and have it ready to pick up. I usually buy a lot of beer and liquor when I go in, so my trips are infrequent, but I find what I want/need usually in stock.They also have tastings on Friday, which I'll be attending .

I have shopped at this store for many years and I really like the direction the new owner, Amanda, is taking this store. I have visited numerous times where bottles of whiskey were readily available on the shelf that at other stores would be locked up or behind the counter. It’s nice to just look and not feel pressured to buy if you simply want to know pricing or availability. Their wine selection has improved immensely in both quality and variety with expressed plans to improve further. If you are a craft brew person, they are bringing in great producers that you’ll not find at most mom and pop shops or Kroger.Lastly, the staff that have joined over the last 6-8 months are all very nice, responsive and offer assistance whenever I stop in. Keep up the great work!

Last time I shop there. Finally found a bottle I’ve been dreaming of and they want to change 10x retail for it because their distributor told them it’s the going price. It is for a secondary market. Not a store price. I offered 6x msrp and they laughed. They can keep their business. I have bought from them many times and it’s always over msrp but never minded because they were a local mom and pop. But honestly they can keep it. I’ll shop at more trustworthy places.Edit: being a small women owned establishment is not a reason why I wrote my review the way I did. When you get a bottle and change secondary pricing in a retail environment it’s just wrong. Asking your vendor and researching is crazy when you pay 99 for the bottle on average and most pay between 195-250 msrp. You’re charging full blown secondary market. I also bought your weller special reserve for 45 when it retails for 29.99, hoping for a bit of recognition or loyalty someday even since it’s over msrp but you have no loyalty system. It’s not just the one. I hope you realize that you over pricing for secondary market could very well put you out of business. Other reviews also mention your prices being a bit over the regular. As I said I’ve bought a bunch from you and will be stopping because I can’t support someone trying to rip off their customers just to make secondary pricing of any products.

What a great store. Amanda(the owner) and her team are so great! Kate is literally the sweetest. Edgar will help you find what ever you need. The store is so clean, even the bathrooms. Everything is so organized and easy to find. Thanks for a great place to shop!
