Tom is super helpful! My partner ran into some car trouble on a road trip and stopped by on Saturday evening right around closing. Tom hopped right to it and fixed her car so we could get back on the road right away! He'll talk your ear off while he's doing it, but he's great for a quick fix.

Spark plugs and filter replacement . He was amazing directions to his shop he also kept the old spark plugs to show us how they were deteriorating then Went on to explain the next upkeep for the car . Idk what the bad review was for but we didn't have that experience
Update called Tom for my vw today I have oil leak. He ordered the part I needed . Tom is not racist I can't speak for other peoples experience but it wasn't mine yet again I've been to Tom on many occasions . He's always friendly and kind , I've always referred another friend to him for his car . She will be coming next . He's awesome we won't be going anywhere else unless he says take it to the dealership directly .

Tom replaced a battery for me, I called before going gave him the year make and Model he told me he would charge me 100$ I asked is that the best he could do he said I could charge you 120$ I said I will stick to the 100$ and went to have the Battery changed out let me say this I should've turned around when I smelled beer SMH he installed the battery and needed to clear the codes telling me he should charge another 100$ just to clear the code which he couldn't figure out!!! When it was time to pay, he charged me 120$ I said you told me 100$ he said he changed his mind!!! He also said that's why a lot of mechanics don't like to deal with you PEOPLE I'm African American, It made me feel away I paid and left never again!! I Beware Tom don't like us(BLACK) PEOPLE!!!

Tom is easily the best mechanic I have ever dealt with in my life! He's gotten a life long customer out of me and I'll recommend him to anyone in need of a honest, fair (and even funny!) Mechanic.

Tom is a man of integrity. My truck had some electrical issues that caused a safety concern, and Tom fixed the problem, as well as a couple other services that he just noticed needed to be done. He genuinely loves what he does, and he loves helping people. I've never taken my vehicle to a mechanic without feeling like I was going to get hosed until I walked into his shop. Guys like him are a rare breed nowadays. Take your car to Tom's.

10/10 recommend. Called around to different places because I was having a brake issue. Pads and rotors were new but it was still squeaking. Mavis and other paces quoted me astronomical prices. However, this place was a fraction of the cost and also was honest and friendly service. This man knows what he is doing with cars. My brakes have never worked this well even before they went out. You can't find this type of amazing, honest, and knowledgeable service much anymore. If you're looking for a place with awesome service and honest prices, this is where you need to go.

Tom helped me out on a Saturday while I was stranded as I was traveling. He did such a great job and was so accommodating, polite and courteous that my father who was also traveling stopped by Tom’s on the return trip for some work that he could easily have waited until he got home to get done. I even met them there on my return so we both could fellowship with Tom. Great service, great work, and great person! I highly recommend

Absolutely blown away with how efficiently and quickly Tom got my car done. I drive a 2011 Chevy Malibu LT that I bought off of marketplace. This coming September of 2023, it will be officially 2 years since I've had this car. Between the time I got this car up until now, we've taken the car to various mechanics and got things fixed up here and there. But there was a certain problem that would not go away no matter what we did. On the dashboard, it was say "Engine power reduced" and the car will stall when it comes to a full stop and take long to accelerate. It takes 30 seconds just for it to reach 40mph ? Now that is very dangerous when you're driving because you're not matching with traffic speed and that will get a cop's attention and they will pull you over or worse, you get into an accident. So I knew that problem needed to be fixed as soon as possible. Believe me when I tell you, I went to four different mechanics to get the problem fixed and they all said different things but when they fixed it, probably 3 to 4 Weeks later the same thing would happen again. I was tired of it so I searched around Covington for mechanics and saw "Tom's Auto Service" pop up on google. He was actually right across the street from where my job was which was very convenient. Gave this guy a call, we met up and talked about the problem, I dropped my car off and left it over there for the weekend. What my car needed was a new throttle body (the throttle body is what gives your car power and acceleration when shifting gears) and ever since he put the new part in, my car has been purring and ripping through the street. On top of that he changed my battery terminals and got my batteries sitting in a more secure position and greased it up good so now the battery looks so much better than how it used to be. Plus he charged it up for me :-) and the whole thing costed $360. Parts, labor included. I'm a college student so saving is so important to me and believe me, I saved so much money. Tom if you're reading this, this is Dee :) I love what you did for my car. I'll definitely give you a call back in the future if needed ❤️

Mr Tom is such a sweet soul! He was closed, yet he called us back and said he’d meet us at the shop since our truck started breaking down on the way home (4 hour left to make it home). When he pulled up, a guy was with him. I assumed it was his son. No, it was someone stranded with car issues. He was going to take him to get a hotel after he’d fixed our truck. GREAT guy indeed!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My car Crv Honda broke down as I pulled into the package store parking lot it was steaming. Thank God Tom was behind the store at his garage he got it started I pulled it around to his garage. Tom did a great Job looked the car over well to see if anything else was wrong . The cars power steering pump was bad and leaked onto the drive belt that made it swell and shred. Plus the previous Mechanic at Just for fun auto sales in Monroe had broke the bar that held battery in place the cables were almost off . The previous Mechanic had worked on the car for oil leak it was not the oil leak it was the power steering pump that was leaking. I highly recommend Tom he looks at everything he takes his time to do a great JobJanice laird . Ps never take our car to Just for fun or buy your car there they have no good Mechanic'sServices: Air & cabin filter replacement

I'll begin by citing the 40+ five-star reviews that Tom's Automotive boasts here on google. It's the reason we chose to hire him in the first place. Terrific reviews, happy customers - we couldn't go wrong! But oh so wrong we went...My daughter's VW Tiguan snapped a timing belt on July 22nd. After calling to discuss we had the vehicle towed to Tom's on July 22nd. After a few days he called with a diagnosis. A few rods were bent and it would take 2-3 weeks to repair. Estimated cost was $2,500 to $4,000.I asked him to proceed. I told him our daughter was going off to college on August 23rd and she really needs her vehicle back by then.Fast forward 151 days and our vehicle was finally ready for pick up. That's nearly five months. I had to consistently request status updates - Tom never reached out to me himself. It honestly felt like he was keeping our car prisoner. He provided every single excuse in the world (I'm sick. Don't feel well. 'In prayer'. My employee left. Doctor said I need bed rest. COVID. Can't figure out what's wrong. Back in the hospital. And on and on). What he did not mention to us, and what we believe the real story is, he has a drinking problem. We saw him at the bar across the street from his shop numerous times while working on our car. And more than once he responded that he was "under the hood now" while my spouse was filming him drinking at the bar.Not once did he say the repair cost would increase beyond his initial estimate. And once he finally did say the vehicle was ready he hit us with a bill of $7,500. Of that, $5,000 was for his "labor". I'm including some snippets from our terrific text history for your amusement.Best part of this entire ordeal? The check engine light came on the next day! We towed it to the VW dealership in Stone Mountain. They put into writing the repairs were not completed properly and it took an additional $1,495 to get my daughter's car running correctly.
