I had my Wedding and reception at the Rothschild-Pound House Inn and it was beyond perfect! The owner Mamie and her Son took care of everything for us, all my fiancée and I had to do was show up. The ceremony was in the garden and was absolutely magical with a violin and cello player, the Chaplin was provide and he was excellent. The food, wedding cake and champagne provided for toast were all over the top in presentation, elegance and freshness. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful and perfect everything was and they are still talking about our perfect wedding. The street parking is plentiful with sidewalks for guests to use.

I will now give 2 stars, since they responded to me- however the Pond House evidently cannot spell last names. I booked directly through their site, so the 3rd party insinuation is incorrect. The money was removed from my AMEX account today, so no incorrect information there. While I appreciate your comments about a "generous return policy", I certainly failed to see this in action. In the end, a review is simply that. The Internet has many flaws but it does provide a platform to give an account of what happened in that one instance, and I have my facts exactly right. Have a nice day!

We got married here on new years day 2023!!! Everything turned out perfectly. We planned this wedding in 11 days and I couldn't have been happier on the way it turned out. We had our ceremony in the courtyard and it's so beautiful out there. Seriously magical fairytale feels. Our pictures were perfect and everything was so beautiful. Mammie was so sweet and there every step of the way on the big day. The house was beautiful and definitely gives a true historical feel.

Beautiful place- we were in town for a wedding and this was the PERFECT spot! Fires going making it extra snuggly and feel like home. We'll definitely make a trip back out just to stay again

This place was definitely cool. Clean and comfortable. They were under renovation and said breakfast wouldn’t be available for another week. But there were so many breakfast places within walking distance, we went to a different one every morning. My girlfriend loved it. We booked again for October.

The owner never greeted us or asked if we needed anything, etc. We just met random strangers visiting the house who were also taking up all the good parking places. No breakfast either. Also, we didn’t appreciate the political signage on display in the yard. It’s supposed to be a get away.

I wouldn't stay here again...even if it was free.I'll just hit the major points, but I could write more.First...even though this is advertised as a bed and breakfast...and our booking stated breakfast included, we received nothing. Not even coffee!I texted the owner the night before about the details for breakfast. It took her 10 hours to respond, only to tell us they aren't serving breakfast and she'd be happy to recommend restaurants and coffee shops.Second...we were only staying one day. Since we weren't being served the advertised breakfast or coffee we decided to just pack up and leave. We went to take a shower and the hot water in the shower didn't work. I messaged the owner at 9:10 am. She messaged me back at 11:52 am. Mind you, check out was at 11:00 am and we had already left the property. So beside no breakfast and no coffee we also had no shower. We were staying at the cottage across the street. The owner may say texting is not her preferred method of communication, but seriously..its 2022. We're across the street, not in the same building. If she can get a phone call she can get a text. On top of all this, the hot water and the lack of providing breakfast were all known issues to the owners. You would think telling your guests a head of time "don't expect breakfast or coffee and I'll need to teach you the special handshake to get hot water" would be something you'd want tell your guests in advance. Just read the other negative reviews. The complaints on both issues are there. I wish I would have read them and heeded their warning. I'm currently seeking a refund from the website I booked through. Time will tell. But at least you are for-warned...and I'm not even telling you about the lack of cleanliness (for which we have pictures) or her insulting text messages (which are still on my phone).

While this is our very first bed and breakfast we have nothing to compare an experience to. We found the owner Mamie Pound to be extremely pleasant and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed the old victorian style home inside and out. Breakfast was good served outside on the wrap around porch. So as we read other not so flattering reviews our experience was quite pleasant and wouldn't not hesitate if the need should arise to be in Columbus again. To change the subject if your in town for the white water rafting do not fail to ask about the water level before you book. We booked 11:00 am today it was a low water level experience to which we got a refund because we had to get back to Knoxville by this evening.

We go married here and the experience was absolutely beyond what we ever expected. The venue, the experience, the food, the staff and everything was amazing. Mamie was so helpful and made sure that everything went off without a hitch. She made everything so easy for us and with a blended family of 6, we were able to have a perfect wedding without all the stress thanks to her.

Our experience was a mixed bag. We arrived to the B&B a bit early, and we were told the room wasn't quite ready, which was fine. It still wasn't ready almost 40 minutes after our check-in time, but we did finally get the key. The room itself was pleasant enough, but there were no trash cans and no pillowcases on the bed. We were told we'd get the pillowcases, but I had to call at 8 PM otherwise we probably wouldn't have had them. The most frustrating part of our visit was the fact that we were told nothing about breakfast and we couldn't get into the main house or reach our host to ask about it. I called pretty consistently from about 8:30 AM through 10:30 AM and got voicemail each time. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable, and our host did try to give us recommendations and make our stay more enjoyable, there was just a lack of communication that made the experience less enjoyable.

I have stayed in hotels, homes, b&b’s, etc. from California to Paris and I can guarantee you this was the absolute worst experience I’ve had as far as amenities and service. No trash cans in any rooms, the tv’s were junk…I had to go purchase our own toilet paper and wash cloths. Oh and no breakfast or breakfast vouchers to be had or offered. Strangers sleeping on the couches and eating our food out of the mini fridge downstairs. Roaches on parade. That’s just for starters.

Worst experience ever. Two months ago I made a reservation at this Bed & Breakfast for this week, and chose one of the cottages located across the street from the main house. The morning we were arriving, the owner called and mentioned that they were renovating that cottage and that she had moved us to the one next to it. We should have been told beforehand; poor communication on her part. She said that the cottage was the same size, but the one we had chosen was advertised as sleeping four and this one only slept two. She said we could go directly to the cottage; no need to come to the main house. The cottage needed TLC but I am not getting into details. Shortly after, we walked to the main house to meet her and ask a few questions but the door was locked. I called her and she did not answer. I texted her and she said she was not there but we could text, so I started asking my questions mainly at what time is breakfast and also the cocktail hour that they advertise. She said she was doing neither because they were renovating! A B&B that does not offer breakfast??? We definitely should have been told this beforehand! A simple email stating this would have been the right thing to do. I texted that to her and said we were very disappointed and as we continued to text, she came out of the house; so she was inside the entire time and had said she was not at home. I hate when people lie to me; totally wrong. One of the reasons we love staying in B&Bs is because the owners are proud of their place and they are hospitable; NOT here. She became rude and we left. Very disappointed of the interaction and total lack of communication. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rothschild- Pound House. We stayed in the Governor Forsyth suite which was quite unusual and special. The jacuzzi was wonderful, we loved that kitty soap, and the bed and pillows were so comfortable! We appreciated how responsive Mamie, the owner, was to our needs and how she worked with us to address any concerns that came up. She is currently in the process of remodeling the main house so you might be aware that there is not a full breakfast at this time. However, she gave us the choice of a continental breakfast or a voucher to go buy breakfast on our own. Thank you, Mamie, for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to come again.
