I see I gave a glowing review at some time before now to Xavier. Well as of today, my sentiments changed about Navy Federal. I finally got the worst agent I have ever spoken with. His name is Daniel, he refused to give me his last name initial, or an agent number. However, he claimed he was a Resolution Specialist. I really don't think whoever gave him this job has really reviewed his calls. He is the furthest thing from a Resolution Specialist. I worked for VA Department of Motor Vehicles. I was a compliance agent. I know how to give excellent customer service, every time. I specialize in de-escalation. Maybe I should apply for Navy Federal, since they have apparently been forced to hire less than their normal standards. I moved to GA recently. I went into the post office, after changing my travel plans to GA, since I didn't have my address yet, to purchase money orders to pay for my apartment deposit and rent. My new landlord was due to meet me within 30 minutes. My purchase was declined. I said ok, that's their security, stepped out of line and called customer service, the rep said yes we had to make sure it was you, you should be fine to make your purchase now. Got back in the line and was embarrassed again when my card declined, as if I had no money, when there was $10,000 in my bank account at the time. I got a fraud department rep when I called back, who told me she had no way to release MY MONEY TO ME, SO THAT I CAN PURCHASE MONEY ORDERS, EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT REQUEST THEM TO HOLD MY MONEY. I HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG, AND HAD CALLED THEM TO VERIFY IT WAS ME, TWICE. THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THERE WAS NO WAY TO RELEASE MY MONEY, AND SUGGESTED I RIDE AROUND TO FIND ATMS,TO GET THE FUNDS I NEEDED FOR MY APARTMENT. I EXPLAINED TO HER MY LANDLORD WAS WAITING FOR ME NOW. TO WHICH SHE APOLOGIZED AGAIN, AND TOLD ME AGAIN TO GO FIND ATMS. This was March 14, 2024.
I WENT TO CVS, WHICH WAS THE CLOSEST MONEY ORDER STORE. THEY COULDN'T TAKE A CARD FOR MONEY ORDERS. SO I WAS FORCED TO WITHDRAW MONEY THREE TIMES, DUE TO THE LIMIT YOU CAN TAKE OUT. I WAS CHARGED $3.25 FOR EACH OF THE THREE TRANSACTIONS I HAD TO MAKE, ALL BECAUSE NAVY FEDERAL DECIDED TO DECLINE MY TRANSACTION AND HOLD MY MONEY. I CALLED TODAY, APRIL 3, 2024, TO REQUEST MY FEES BE CREDITED BACK TO ME. SINCE IT WAS NAVY FEDERAL'S ERROR THAT I WAS FORCED TO GO TO THE ATM, I WANT MY FEES BACK. THE REP DANIEL THAT I SPOKE WITH TODAY, RUDELY TALKED OVER TOP OF ME, BLAMED ME FOR USING THE ATM THAT THE NAVY FEDERAL REP SUGGESTED I USE, AND KEPT SAYING I CHOSE TO USE THE ATMS. THAT WAS NOT MY CHOICE, IT WAS INSTEAD THE ONLY OPTION I HAD LEFT. I HAVE LARYNGITIS AND JEY KEPT TALKING OVER ME, AND THEN DISCONNECTED THE CALL WHEN I ASK FOR HIS SUPERVISOR, OR SOMEONE OVER HIM, SO I COULD REPORT HIM. I CALLED BACK AND GOT A SUPERVISOR, WHO REALLY DIDN'T APOLOGIZE AT ALL, JUST CREDITED BACK $, AND BASICALLY BRUSHED OFF WHAT I WAS TELLING HER ABOUT DANIEL. IF SHE WAS A SUPERVISOR, I DIDN'T SEE IT. YOU ALL NEED TO DO AN OVERHAUL, BECAUSE YOU USED TO HAVE THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS..SAD THAT A FEW WILL RUIN YOUR GOOD REPUTATION. BUT I STILL WANT THE FEES THAT I WAS FORCED TO INCUR, DUE TO NAVY FEDERAL DENYING MY TRANSACTION, FOR NO REASON. I VERIFIED THE PURCHASE. I HOPE SOMEONE READS THIS, AND HANDLES THIS.
ORIGINAL REVIEW WAS 5 stars
TheWhen I call customer service, it is always a gd experience. I only have had a few rude reps in the years I have been with Navy Federal. Today I spoke with Xavier, of course I don't have a last initial or agent number, but I hope he gets some recognition. He was so sweet to tell me to feel better. He was very professional, and sincere, when I know he could barely hear me, because of my laryngitis. Thank you again, Xavier ?

By far, it is the worst bank in Columbus when it comes to wait time to talk to a teller. I am the Quartermaster at the VFW, and i took over the account over a month ago. I told the lady at the front that i joined over a month ago and i havent received my ATM card yet without even looking at me once, she proceeded to say just wait in the line and the teller will help you... now, mind you, the line was all the y back to the entrance. No, i am sorry, i will get someone to take care of you. I am clearly just a number. But when you join, I will say it's top tier and they do take care of Veterans. They are a staunch supporter or local nonprofits organizations as well. They are in need of a much bigger location ASAP. The location they are at now is not sufficient enough with the number of members they have. The bank manager, Heather, is awesome!

I have been banking with navy federal since 2018. And the fact that they trying to make me pay back something that I reported that was fraudulent is a problem. It’s an automated system and ain’t none of their representative heard me say I disputed items off my account. They need to fix it or just close my account. I have never experienced this ever. Yall have all technology yall need to find them funds!!!!

Such a joy to visit this NFCU location. You are always greeted warmly as you enter. The customer service agents are friendly and very helpful. I wish there was a branch closer so I could enjoy the service more frequently.

Need another location or fully staff word is out that this is the best bank and crowded to the point I hate going in to the lobby one of the main reason I used to love this bank, personal interaction with a teller.

Very poor customer service and poor knowledge of banking procedures at check in today. I was told that I needed an appointment (bank needed 24 hr notice) to open an IRA account with a check from my 401k. None of the specialists in the back appeared to have customers in front of them. Only appointments offered to me for one week out fell on 2 days that I would be working. Branch fail!Called customer service and was advised to go online, open an IRA savings account. It took like 5 minutes. I was then able to walk back into the same branch and deposit my check into that account with a regular teller. The teller was nice and did a great job.

Was with Navy Federal for over 20 years and they wouldn't give me a loan so I could bring my credit up. My VA check and my employment check direct deposited into my account every time and they still wouldn't approve me for a loan. Maybe it's because I'm black.

Been banking with Navy Federal for 3 years. Long lines always but the tellers are very kind. Although my visit recently was very disappointing. Teller #46302 Candance needs to be trained over again on customer service.

Parking designed poorly. Rarely more than 2 tellers. This is a military town and only one (1) N.F.C.U. absolutely ridiculous. For the most part staff is professional and friendly. If you need assistance inside be prepared to wait 20 minutes at a minimum.
