Such a lovely park to walk through or spend an afternoon! Lots of spots for pictures and picnics! A very fun playground for kids as well! The grand stone staircase is also very beautiful! (There are bathrooms but don’t use them <3) God made such a beautiful world!! ?

The park was closed but I had to show my husband where I used to take my kids when they were little!!! He’s a cop and as cop as you can get so I could only get him to walk thru the open gate to the fishing pier and back. But I went around the main gate a little ways and took these pics for my kids….grown now with kids and grandkids some of them!!

Big Lake quiet place to have a family picnic or birthday party they have Frisbee Golf Course and a bike trail mountain bike trail. They have a friendship Hall I'm not sure but you can probably call the city and rent the Friendship Hall which is a a big building with tables and I think a kitchen. Be careful of people coming in the wrong direction because it is A one way entrance Park that's about a mile long some people that are not in the know or can't see the signs properly will come in the wrong entrance and drive all the way around the park it does have a bunch of windy twisting roads. So the cars that are coming the wrong way 10 to pop up on you quickly just be aware. Other than that is it is a pretty good Nature Park.
Playground: There are two playgrounds.
Toilets: Restrooms are not open.
Dog-friendliness: Pets must be on a leash. Very pet friendly.
Picnic area: Allot of picnic areas are available throughout.

My dog loved the place. We plan to return some other time as a "field day" plan. It is located 1 hour from downtown Atlanta, so it can be a good option for those who live there and want a day away from the stress of the city. We could also see that people go fishing and many people with their dogs, family and children. It is a very nice place.

Trash everywhere, people smoking dope at numerous places,no Ranger or Sheriff deputies to ride through. This park sure has gone down since my youth! Shame! BTW I picked up a 30 gal.trash bag full bad today. Dirty diapers and plastic cups and paper!

I enjoy coming here to walk with my bf. It's peaceful but still active enough to were we both feel safe
Playground: The playgrounds are study enough for adults but small enough for toddlers to be comfortable on.
Toilets: Locked down. Cannot use the restrooms since covid. I wish they'd open them again.
Dog-friendliness: Lots of space for dogs to walk and play with their owners. If ypur dog loves walks or water or both this is the place to go.
Picnic area: The tables are sometimes dirty bc other people don't clean up after themselves but otherwise they're great places to have an outside snack or gathering

This was a very friendly and relaxing place. Not easy to get down to the water if you can't walk, but still very nice. All the brick built outdoor ovens were nice to see and a great add to our ideas for our campground.
Playground: Very nice playground.
Dog-friendliness: Dogs should be on leashes and I didn't see anything prohibiting dogs.
Picnic area: Very nice picnic areas. They are also somewhat private, and there are quite a few of them as well.
