My experience here was not good. I was charged $350 for a simple tax return, single female with no children. I was told this was a discount from the normal rate of $400 since I was referred to her from a co-worker. I felt bad that she had already done the work once I asked her how much it was, so I just gave cash and let it be done. I should have asked how much it cost before doing the work. That's on me. However, Renisha did not even include my form 8962, which was my premium tax credit for my health insurance. I was asked by her BEFORE she completed my taxes if I had health insurance and who it was through, so I responded and told her yes, it is through the marketplace. My federal refund came to $3311. I kept waiting for my check in the mail, then finally I got a letter from the IRS saying my refund is on hold until they receive the form 8962. When I asked Renisha about this and asked her kindly to please fill out the form after I get her the 1095A form, she said she would be glad to do it for an ADDITIONAL cost of $50! I said “I have already paid you $350 and this should have been done right the first time.†She then responded, “I am not required by law to fill out health insurance forms for taxes, but if you want to pay the $50 fee, I will be glad to take care of it for you.†I was appalled. Not only did she over-charge me, but once I finally got the tax form done through a family friend, my refund of course was reduced (to $2,000). She incorrectly did my taxes as well as overcharged me, and the part that makes it the worst is her attitude and integrity, it's completely lacking in her business. Our family friend is an accountant and he stated that was way overcharging for a simple return, especially since she didn't even do my form8962. He said that is incorrect and she is required to do so. When I told Renisha at Tax Almighty that I would do the form myself as well as take my business elsewhere from now on, she said “Awesome!â€
