Decided to give this company a second chance after my bad experience in March, big mistake! I reserved my rental weeks in advance, get to the location yesterday and was told, we will not have any vehicles available for 3 hours. The man at the counter had the audacity to tell the group of us who all reservations, I told the shuttle bus driver to tell you all that when he picked you up. Someone asked, don't you think you should call people and tell them this, he said it wasn't up to him to call. Every person that arrived with me had family to get to for the holiday. I ended up taking an uber which was not cheap and today I still have no rental and I prepaid for the rental so I have to wait to get a refund. I take partial blame because my first mind told me never to rent with this company again and after yesterday I never will. I would steer clear of this company at all costs, it's cheaper than other rental car companies for a reason.

Do not rent anything from this business. They are the worst car rental company I've ever rented from . You would be better off taking public transportation than to rent from this place

Five stars goes to everyone who has rated routes, car, rental, Atlanta! All of your reviews are spot on, and for that I applaud you! Never ever ever rent a car from this establishment! Do yourself a favor and read all of my fellow yelpers and U2 will never rent from this place! Although the price is right, you have to jump through hoops to get what you want and or booked. I rented a car the other day and I'm back in Maryland and still fighting the gas charge or should I say the gas up charge. This place is a piece of shit, the people that work there are just there to collect a paycheck. There is no pride. Southern hospitality is not alive and well in Atlanta.

I flew in to the Atlanta Airport and went towards the car rental off-site location. Once there, we were told they were out of vehicles even though we paid in advance for the vehicle. We paid the full rental price for the length of our stay. The customer service experience was not great even though I showed kindness, patience, and understanding. I was stranded at the off-site location until 3am in the morning. I will not book with this company again.

This company does not rent vehicles to people who live in Atlanta. So when I went to pick up the rental on August14th, after waiting 25 minutes, we were told that if we live here, they can't rent us the car nor do they handle the refund. You have to get that from whoever you booked it from and walked away. To date, I do not have my refund.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKINGIf I could give this place a negative star I would.First, they didn't have the car I booked. They gave me a car that had maintenance issues. Then on the receipt the put the fuel cage as "full" and it was not full. Hence, they don't check their cars before they rent them out.I called and let them know all these issues and they just brushed me off. I even asked if I could come back and get the car I originally booked when they have it in stock and they told me they don't do that. The workers are so damn rude. God forbid you have a question about anything, they will literally talk down to you so condescendingly. Like relax, you work at a sh***y a** rental company and if your that damn miserable then get a new job. Half of the time they're just chit chatting with each other. Atlanta literally has the worst customer service- seriously look it up, they're like #4 on the list of worst customer service in America and from my experience it's definitely true.Anyway, I booked the rental through Expedia which was a mistake in itself because they have you prepay for your car. However, if you end up not getting the car you paid for, which is more likely than not, you wouldn't get a refund from Expedia for the difference in cost. The shuttle guys are ok, some are overly nice but it's just because they're working for their tips- can't fault them for that.If you're planning on booking with Routes in Atlanta PLEASE for the love of God, DON'T DO IT.Just pay a little extra and book somewhere else. And DON'T book through Expedia either.

We parked our vehicle on Saturday, July 15th. We returned on Monday, July 17th to pick up our car and noticed that there was a scratch to the passenger side bumper of the car. When we notified the agent at the counter, they provided us with a phone number and email address of the General Manger on a sticky note. I asked what was the process when an incident like this happens on their property. We were told that we had to contact him so he can review the cameras to determine when and how the incident occurred. I asked if anyone was going to come out to file a report and/or take a photo of my vehicle. The agent said to be honest with you there is a sign in the front that says they are not really responsible for any cars parked on the lot. Another agent suggested that we call the police to file a report. When the police arrived and he asked if they knew about the incident. The agent said that they didn't know how long we were here because they hadn't looked up our reservation. They also did not have access to the camera. I am extremely disappointed at the way we were treated. They did not show empathy or concern about condition of our vehicle and while in their care.

3-day pre-paid 139.49 car rental cost me 558.16 to rent a car for 3 days. Salespeople are required to get up sales and it is apparent after reading many negative reviews, they are maliciously adding additional hidden fees. OMG, it looks like the only fee besides taxes that's legal is the Vehicle license fee.++++++Now I can see why they frustrate and rush you in and out. This is a strategic method used to add all these other charges, unknowingly to you, and manipulate you into signing it blindly.3rd party renters need to be accountable they rent to us under false pretenses too.I was charged 81.40 for (total time and mileage) for an unlimited mileage rental. ++++26.97 for something that has no explanation(3 days).++++Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is an optional service that provides additional liability insurance beyond the minimum financial responsibility limits provided in the rental agreement. 56.00 x 4days++++(RSP) (Roadside Assistance Protection) 19.96 x 4 days++++Vehicle License Fee Rental car suppliers have to pay these taxes but they usually pass them on to customers. (There was no registration in the car) 108.55++++TRW stands for "Theft Responsibility Waiver". It is an optional insurance coverage that can be purchased when renting a car. 15.96 X 4 DAYS++++CDW2 is an abbreviation for Collision Damage Waiver. It is additional insurance coverage offered to an individual renting an automobile. 99.96 X 4 DAYSWas told because I live in Georgia, they could not rent to me. I cried informing the gentlemen my sister's children would be put out on the streets unless I picked them up immediately, and I really needed a car right away. He told me he was trying to help me since I was in dire need but he had to get approval. ++++ They charge a 350 deposit and I would be refunded the next day. Told him I am unemployed and could not pay additional fees. He came outside and whispered he would help me. I really believed he was sincere. He seemed genuine, he said I would have to pay $24 per day for insurance. ++++Crying, I reminded him I could not pay. I was asked about vehicle coverage. I downloaded a copy of my State Farm insurance on my phone. He whispered I am trying to help you and said I was ok. He said that he'd push me through. So I thought I paid 350 deposit (on my 139.49 pre-paid rental); so I signed the contract when I saw the same amount prepaid for the car rental in the subtotal. I really believed he was sincere. and when I went to the vehicle had never been washed in or outside, The vehicle was filthy. Because of my emergency, I took a video of the vehicle and drove off.++++I returned the vehicle at 7:45 but Eric recorded it at 815 pm. He told me I would be refunded the next day. I went to their website and got CS #. I was told I requested an additional day and was charged $11.56. I informed CS I never requested an additional day.I was never told there were any additional fees, I was under the impression I was signing to verify how much I paid to rent the car from Price Line--it is the exact amount. I never requested any additional day or requested any additional services; I did not need those services the 139.49 was the amount I paid for it's the reason I signed-- my contract says no additional fees will be required upon arrival.++++Once I proved I had insurance coverage, I only need to pay my deposit. Too many reviewers all say they were charged fees they did not request or agree with. Too many reviews talk about the long waits (I waited an hour and then was told they could not rent to me), so I can relate to their frustration. Nonetheless, it is apparent it is a malicious strategy to manipulate customers under pressure knowing they really need the rental. Look what's happening here, we are not allowed to file a claim against this company with the BBB, most people stated their banks cannot do any because the government is allowing all of these companies collectively to rob us. I am so frustrated,,

If you're looking for the cheapest car rental, you'll probably opt for Routes. This Routes Car Rental is located in College Park near the ATL airport and is off-site. Fair warning: they only rent out to tourists (Non-GA residents) and have a $350 pre-authorization charge. Now that is all out of the way- yes, it's cheap but totally worth it if you're pinching pennies. Once you arrive at the ATL airport, you have to take the sky train (or tram?) to the rental area. Once you get there, you have to take the free shuttle to the off-site Routes location. Keep in mind, the shuttle seems to come every 15-30 minutes (a bit random) so don't have any urgent plans right after you arrive. Once you get to Routes, there are several clerks that can help you. I picked a mystery car and got a very clean Volkswagen Jetta car. They inspect the car before handing you over the keys and let you know the amount of gas to refill it (if you don't choose prepaid) and you are on your way! When dropping off the car, you just drop it off right beside the building where it looks like a drive-thru. After they inspect it, you wait for the shuttle to come and take you back to the airport. Make sure you have a buffer before your flight since this location not in the airport and TSA lines are usually long (albeit fast). If the car is in good condition and you refilled the gas- they return your $350 within a few days. I had no issues with Routes- you definitely get a bang for your buck here. It is a bit of a hassle getting to and from the airport but not terrible.
