There's nothing like walking into a store, only to be greeted by coded hate speech. SO MUCH FUN! Anyway, that was my experience here at The Bread Basket in Colbert. I've never seen this lady. She must be new. Every other time I've been here (since the mid-2000s), everyone has been super-nice to me.But today ?? was not one of those days.No self-respecting person needs to work so hard and so stealthily to cut a complete stranger down for something they can't help, and unprovoked. Eh, at least I wasn't shot at or threatened.Improvement!?99% of the people in this part of the state are actually really kind and give me zero problems. I appreciate that so much. Unfortunately, insistently-ignorant, fearful people do still exist. I was bound to run into one or two in these parts. This is the second one I've encountered this year. Just two, so far.

Bacon egg and cheese biscuit was really great. Nice surprise in a gas station in Comer, GA. Biscuit was perfect, bacon was crispy. Highly recommend.

We really enjoy the convenience of our local Bread Basket The employees are always there to greet you with a hello and a smile.The meats there are the best around and the deli has a great selection and gives you choices of things you'd have at home.We love the Bread Basket im Colbert!

The staff is nice for the most part. we mostly stop here for the chicken and tater boats. I like that fact that I can call ahead and tell them what I want and they will have ready by the time I get there. I really just wish they would sell the fruit to grow drinks for kids. My daughter loves them.

This is a small town blessing. I usually come in for breakfast or lunch. In the mornings, their biscuits are amazing. I prefer the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. They are all cooked very well. The biscuits themselves aren't dry, but they have the fluff and heavenly taste of southern biscuits. I'm also a fan of their bacon and grits. Their small grits is a good size serving, and they taste pretty good. They are a little bland, but they have salt and pepper at the counter that you can add to them free of cost. For lunch, I get the potato wedges (potato boats). They are usually perfectly cooked; however, sometimes they can be a little burnt or have little "crust" on the outsides of them. Their chicken strips are also good. The chicken is a bit dry, but it's a unique texture and flavor that I happen to love. On top of this, the food is cheap. I can get two orders (12 pieces) of potato boats for $2.55. For that price, it's well worth it. Overall, the Bread Basket is an amazing place that I don't mind spending my money.
