We were greeted immediately when we walked in the door. After introductions and being told about sale items we talked a little about my favorite art, needle felting. I am so appreciative that this store exists, and has been around for years, showcasing local artists. I would love to see this duplicated closer to home. Meanwhile I hope to have a space of my own in this store next year.”

I worked with Mary Gray at the Atlanta location and can’t say enough good things about her. She was helpful, honest and very down to earth. It was like shopping with a friend. I purchased the Annie boots and had them branded (which Mary Gray did herself) and also stretched in store. I wore them to a concert the next day and received so many compliments but the best part is they were SO comfortable. I did a TON of walking that night + standing + dancing and my feet didn’t pay the price. The customer service at this store is truly what makes the experience so great. “I visited Squash Blossom today for the first time. Just a random day in downtown Decatur…but I ended up stumbling upon this gem. Upon walking in I noticed 3 beautiful brown women! I was so excited to learn that it was black owned. The ladies were extremely helpful and hospitable. “The name of this store is very misleading. Perhaps it started off as an African Art & Design Gallery but now they offer much more. I typically shop here for black soap, shea butter and Jamaican castor oil. The reason I drive all the way across town to purchase these items is for the reason the oils are legit and not water down; which is evident by the consistency of the product. A lot of manufacturers capitalize off a products name but at African Art & Design Gallery they source authentic products. The store has a plethora of items to chose from: African garb, hair & skin oils, lotions, soaps, jewelry, art, inscense etc. In the front of the store they have a section where they sale item made by small business owners. I love checking out that section because I like putting my friends on to new things and spreading the love by supporting new/small business owners.”
