Stellar staff that go above and beyond in their care of animals. Involved in community programs for vaccines, microchips and huge spay/neuter advocates

Make sure you have a leash if you bring a dog because if not you will get yelled at for not having a leash. But yet no where in their website or physical site or when someone calls to arrange to bring a stray dog in do they tell you this because they say " it's common sense" , its literally a stray dog why would I have a leash for it. They said other dogs are mean and could have hurt the sweet stray dog yet there was not a dog in sight, didn't even hear one bark, Mind you it was my first time doing it , I was doing them a favor by bringing it instead of them coming to where I was at. And to be honest I don't ever want to do it again. I understand that I did wrong but it was not on purpose and there was no reason to freak out on me. To be honest y'all need a sign that states we need leashes and somewhere in the website or just go pick up the dog your selves when people call about a stray dog and stop asking people to bring them in or if you do ask them to bring stray in, give instructions, tell them make sure they have a leash or to come to building and get a leash for stray or tell the person to stay in car and come to the dog.

Love the staff here! They take excellent care of the animals and are very knowledgeable about the personalities of all the animals in their care. Even snagged this cutie for rescue ❤️

While on vacation we decided to visit the Habersham County Animal Care Center and were thoroughly impressed. The staff and volunteers were very kind and knowledgeable and had a true passion for animal rescue. The shelter was very clean and well maintained. The animals were very friendly and happy. We loved that they have indoor/outdoor access and get dedicated one on one time everyday. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a new best friend to check out this wonderful shelter!

Horrible. Just horrible the way they are so negative about the animals they have in their care. Literally got in a screaming match with the staff with how they were treating me and talking about the animals there. So very unprofessional and uncaring.

They need a bigger shelter, they get in so many animals this time of year they are overwhelmed. They do the very best with what they have but I would like to see the county put some money in to the shelter and not so much into the rec department.???????

What happened to the cpl million dollars they received years ago to build a new facility?? Habersham has one of the worst "humane societies"/animal control systems of most all of the surrounding counties and just about of any that I've ever seen or worked with. And where has all of that money gone and why is it taking so long??

Staff was very friendly. They did not have a small dog and always looking for but took my name and number and said they would call me back if they got one in. As if this date have not heard back to them

All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. I absolutely fell in love with Sully, he was the perfect mid sized full grown pup for me (about terrier size and VERY SWEET)!! Unfortunately, my husband says we need to get another female fur baby to play with our other girl fur babies. I hope Sully finds a loving family that's kind of lay back and quiet, maybe someone like me that loves having a lap dog, they are the best!!
