I have been a user of Clarkesville Vet since Dr. Wonders owned it. I will never use them again! Since Dr. Wonders sold the practice, I have noticed changes that I didn't like, some were Covid related, so I stayed but any new pet I took to another vet. This vet practice only cares about money! It is a huge rip-off and although I'm sure the vet techs and docs are not heartless, I feel the almighty dollar clouds their judgement. I recently took my beagle who was having problems with his legs and was generally lethargic. After almost $1000, they said it was thyroid and gave me a pill with the assurance that after a week he would be much better. After 2 weeks he was worse. The vet called to check on him and said the doc would be "more than happy" to run some more tests. I said no thank you and took him to another vet. Turns out, my beagle didn't have thyroid and had to be put down for a myriad of other problems that were ignored, including a piece of metal in his intestines. There are other vets in the area that offer great care and don't cost an arm and a leg!

After decades with this practice, I am done. There have been small things that have annoyed me but today was the final straw. Made an appt for today at 0920 last week. Arrived at 0900, told we didn't have an appt. Most certainly did, called and made the appt myself. Claimed they had out of date phone numbers, interesting since they send me reminders frequently. Incompetent front desk staff cost them a customer today.

We were vacationing in Helen. My Border Collie became ill and had blood in her urine. I called 4different veterinary services in Cleveland and could not get an appointment. One of the offices suggested I try Clarkesville. They were able to get us in within 2 hours. All of the staff were kind more than accommodating from the minute I was received at the reception desk through the meeting with the assistant and consult with the vet. I am so happy to have gone to Clarkesville. Everyone was very professional and took the time to explain everything in detail. A huge thank you to the entire staff. I highly recommend them all.

I could go on and on about this vet. It was my fiancé's and my first time losing a pet, and it was traumatic. They were patient with us, understanding, calming, and so comforting. They informed us so well of the entire process. They care. It was obvious while we were there and even when we got home. Today, a month since his passing, we received a letter in the mail from all the doctors and nurses just saying they are thinking of us. ABOVE AND BEYOND. Forever grateful for these hardworking, big hearted people. Will never take my animals anywhere else.

Provided excellent care for our dog for several years and were great as we approached the end of life for her.....both in understanding and appropriate medications. When the end came they were incredibly understanding and helpful.
