My cat was trapped and brought to Polk County Animal Control in Cedartown on May 1st, 2024 and he is chipped under my fiancés name and we had noticed he was missing on 4/29/2024 as we posted missing reports on social media, flyers etc. and I had the hunch to call animal control today and he was brought to them so we were happy to know he was found. Drove there to pick him up and first thing that was said to me was he’s covered in his own feces and will need to be cleaned up, We checked for a chip but our old scanner didn’t pick anything up, Then jokingly said we have a new scanner and just skipped my mind to check him with that, he was there since last Wednesday and not a second thought to recheck to see if he had a chip, I am disappointed with the professionalism handled by this establishment

I highly recommend using Polk Animal Control for reporting missing and stray animals in your neighborhood as well as adopting pets. The shelter is clean and spacious. The play yard is large enough for even large pets, and the staff is courteous and helpful. I

We’ll My Lil Man got locked up ???Chito my male Chihuahua got out and thank Goodness for his chip! We were alerted immediately, and picked him up the next morning!! The staff was amazing and did a wonderful job keeping him safe!! Thanks again Polk County for caring ??

My husband and I had such an amazing experience here. The staff was amazing and they were all very kind hearted people! There was a very nice man that helped us find our new fur baby and we couldn't be happier! I would definitely recommend coming here to adopt a sweet precious cat or dog. ?? ??

I went there to get my grandson a kitten, The one that showed us the cats and kittens took time to let my grandson make his choice. I would definitely recommend if you want a cat or dog go there.

I had spoken with a lady who was very nice and helpful. Called back to verify some information and spoke to A man who was incredibly rude, and heartless. My moms neighbor passed away and her cat came onto our property needing a lot of help, as my mom is disabled and he basically told me that I was going to be “charged with abandonment”, and that it wasn’t their responsibility to help. Such a heartless individual.

So apparently they don't even give animals a chance ? I called about some kittens being abandoned and I can't keep bcuz of my dog and they tell me immediately they'll be put down ? I just saw the place was cleared out last week and the girl said yes and by that Monday we were double that..today is Monday ? they take kill shelter beyond the limit!

The most heartless, rude people I've ever met. And it's a kill shelter. I didn't know that going in cause where I'm from, they aren't. They don't do anything to try and help save these animals. Their solution is to just euthanize them as quickly as possible.

Best place to find your lait pet or adopt all the staff there. Are super sweet people and really care about thee animals and all the community service workers or so nice. For take ing. There. Free. Time and paying. Back 2 the world lol
