“My transmission quit about 3 miles from my house. I spoke to a friend of mine that lives in Cartersville, Ga and he recommended I call Skene Transmission. I called Mr. Skene to see if there was anything I could do to salvage this situation… Unfortunately, there was not… He recommended I bring it in… He also told me about a local wrecker service (Matthew Smith Towing) These guys were super helpful and nice and only charged me 200.00 to haul my truck over 50 miles to Mr. Skene! I drove to meet Mr. Skene later that day… I asked him about certain parts in these GM transmissions that have issues… he right away took me and showed me all the parts that cause these issues and that he puts upgraded parts in all his rebuilds included billet torque converts!! This sold me right away as I have worked on cars, trucks and machines for over 30+yrs. Myself and speaking to him was like talking to a long-lost friend! Very meticulous and detail oriented and very knowledgeable! Between the conversation I had with Mr. Skene and the wrecker service he recommended…. This took a load of stress off me and my family knowing our truck was in the best of hands possible! He also had something done to the rear main (which you have to take the engine out to do anyways) the price was unbelievably reasonable! 3500 dollars and the truck was done in four days!
