“Animal control usually gets a bad rap, especially in a large, mostly rural county like Carroll County, GA. I only have wonderful things to say about CCAC, however. We are new to Carroll County and are in a more rural area where, unfortunately, we have found that pet spay/neuter and fencing is not the norm (although we have done both).Today we found a maybe 6 week old, scrawny puppy screaming outside our primary fenced-in yard area. It was on our uncleared property. I took the puppy to a safe, cool place and gave it a bath and water. Then I called Carroll County Animal Control. The lovely lady, the dispatcher?, who took my call was understanding and outstanding. I understood that I may or may not receive a visit today given the time and our location. We made plans to figure out a way to house the squirt over the weekend away from our own pups, if needed.A couple of hours later, however, an Animal Control vehicle was in our driveway. The officer was outstanding and I cannot say enough good things about Courtney. She not only was super sweet to the puppy, but had an idea of the puppy's owner. She called me later and said she found the owner and the puppy had wondered off. It was reunited with its mama.She was compassionate and professional. Thank you, Animal Control.”
