Animal control usually gets a bad rap, especially in a large, mostly rural county like Carroll County, GA. I only have wonderful things to say about CCAC, however. We are new to Carroll County and are in a more rural area where, unfortunately, we have found that pet spay/neuter and fencing is not the norm (although we have done both).Today we found a maybe 6 week old, scrawny puppy screaming outside our primary fenced-in yard area. It was on our uncleared property. I took the puppy to a safe, cool place and gave it a bath and water. Then I called Carroll County Animal Control. The lovely lady, the dispatcher?, who took my call was understanding and outstanding. I understood that I may or may not receive a visit today given the time and our location. We made plans to figure out a way to house the squirt over the weekend away from our own pups, if needed.A couple of hours later, however, an Animal Control vehicle was in our driveway. The officer was outstanding and I cannot say enough good things about Courtney. She not only was super sweet to the puppy, but had an idea of the puppy's owner. She called me later and said she found the owner and the puppy had wondered off. It was reunited with its mama. She was compassionate and professional. Thank you, Animal Control.

I literally just called and asked if I could drop off some kittens that I found on the side of the road and the woman that I was talking to rudely informed me that I had to schedule to drop them off because they don’t do walk ins. What kind of animal shelter makes you call and schedule to drop off strays? Now I have to leave them where they’re at because my apartment doesn’t allow pets.

I took my cat here he was very sick. They told me he had a belly ache and sent him home. I was charged for that visit and all the medications they sent home with him. I got him home the first thing he did was drink some water. I thought that's progress. I was wrong as soon as he moved away from the water bowl. There was a puddle of blood that came from his rectum he was very sick. I immediately rushed him back. They admitted him right away and charged a $600 deposit he stayed about 2 nights and was finally released. After paying the deposit and the $300 from his first visit I was charged another $330 when I picked him up. My cat was dying and they sent him home knowing he was very sick . Why would someone do that? They did it for money he should have never been sent home to begin with. They do not care about the animals at all they should be shut down. They are killing people's animals and charging these amounts . It's all about the money they send them home knowing they are still sick just so you can bring your animal back to be charged some more. I will never use or recommend this place to anyone.

We spent a good part of the day calling the shelter to come out to get a nuance dog that someone had dropped a few weeks ago. Only after calling the sherrifs office did officer Justin come to the house and help us remove the animal. He was extremely professional and kind to us and the animal.

Just celebrated my sweet guys 7th birthday. I adopted him at Carroll County Animal Shelter back in December 2015. He’s been happily residing with us in Florida the last 4 years. He’s the best guy! Reginald aka Reggie ? I move a LOT, and he has been everywhere with me ? He has lived in Pensacola Beach and now we are living in Panama City Beach. He really is living his best life! He loves going outside to catch lizards and frogs. Then afterwards he enjoys coming inside and curling up in bed. He is potty trained to the max. He will wake me up dead out of my sleep to take him outside to do his duties. No litter box here ? he’s THAT smart. Thanks Carroll County. ♥️

We adopted a Kitty a week ago. The Kitty came with fleas and full of worms but the lady at the front office told us that all the animals came with flea, tick and worms treatment. Now I'm having to remove all the rugs from my house because I received an email from the Maddie's pet assistant saying that if the cat walked through the rugs the worms stay on them and they are very difficult to remove. The cleaning products are not effective in killing the worms. The front office/ employees should stop being rude and be more professional. Lack of education does not mean professionalism. Very disappointed.

Worst service ever. I called to make a report about a abandoned dog. They told me that they would send someone right away and no one ever showed up or even gave me a call back
