This place is an absolute nightmare and it's no wonder they had openings when everywhere else was on a wait list. The "director" is nice at first when you sign up then going forward she doesn't even wave or make eye contact. Not friendly or inviting. The owner is non-existent except when you make a comment about the sandbox and will lie and say it's being fixed that weekend which never did.
And the sandbox... prepare to bring home no less than 1 pound per day to your car and home. My daughter had the worst diaper rash and blisters I've ever seen and every time it was brought up the concern of the sand box they shrug it off and ignore it. Knowing the teachers hate it so much. They close so much for random "weather" issues like thunderstorms and the lights flicker half a second.
The veteran teachers are severely over worked and the hire they help is pitiful and are just a body so they can be within the required standards for the state. The new fill in teachers and floats are a revolving door of women who aren't fit to scrub toilets let alone educate children. All the toys in the rooms are dated and clearly the money isn't being reinvested in the rooms. Yet they were quick to get rid of teachers that they severely needed over things that could have been talked about and settled differently.
Just be very weary when signing here that there's some major issues and your kid will constantly come home covered in dirty sand from head to
Butt crack with missing clothes or the wrong clothes and most of the time diapers you didn't supply. Your concerns will never be turned into actions after fake apologies and excuses that is if you can actually get someone to talk to you about it.

My child has a sensory processing disorder and this school has gone above and beyond to make sure he keeps up with kids his age. He started walking and talking at around 2 weeks of being in this school at 2 years old. And that was after 6 months of OT and other practices of trying to help him learn to walk and talk. His delays became almost non-existent. They’ve all been so understanding and kind about situations life has throw at us. Even when my child is out of daycare/pre-k I will recommend this school to anyone who is looking. Their concern is not the money, it’s the children. I’m a very anxious mother but I know that when I drop my child off he is safe, taken care of, and loved. This school has been the biggest blessing to me and my family in the hardest times in our lives. We are forever grateful for this school and the staff who run it. If you’re looking for a school who will care for and love your child almost as much as you do, go here. These are some of the most angelic people I’ve ever met.

Having worked in childcare for the past almost 9 years, I can say with absolute certainty that Cherokee Academy is the best place I have worked. Not only that, but it is also a wonderful place to send your children. The love that my child experienced this year from everyone from the director to the support staff really made the difference in bringing her out of her shell. I am thankful for everyone that is involved in this place from the owner all the way down, truly a family environment!

As a former employee who had worked here for MANY years and been through a lot of changes it is heartbreaking what the daycare center has came to. The teachers in the classrooms are absolutely AMAZING but are way over worked and very under appreciated, but the directors and owner on the other hand are terrible. The directors upfront are very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful to employees and parents and the owner only cares about your money and not the children. Unless you wanna possibly get screwed out of money being an employee or get an attitude when you try to ask the directors a simple question about your child, I would not work for them or send your child here. Sadly the center is just not the same anymore with the new owners/directors.

My son has been going to this daycare for almost a week now and he absolutely loves it. He has quite a bit of allergies and the Director Jessica and her Assistant Adriana, along with the staff have all gone out of their way to make sure he has what he needs and that he is taken care of. They have gone as far as driving to Walmart after work (off the clock) to make sure he has Almond Milk for the next day. I can not express how grateful I am for them and thankful that I made the switch to this daycare. The teachers also consistently keep me posted daily on an app with the food he eats, when he gets his diaper changed, if he gets any bumps or bruises, and when he takes a nap, they also send me pics throughout the day. They all truly care and it shows!

My sweet babies have all attended here and have been so extremely loved every step of the way in every classroom. It’s not just one teacher. It’s not just one person. The entire staff, infant room to office, work together to ensure these babies are loved, cared for, stimulated, challenged and achieve. This is so much more than a daycare. They are a blessing to have my children in their care when they aren’t with me. The director is the most personable, hospitable and educated woman. The staff are a direct reflection of that. The teachers in every room treat your children as their own…..As a mother who doesn’t trust a soul to watch my babies, I trust these folks as much as I trust myself to take care of them, because they truly are just the kind of people who become more like family than any old “child care center”. They’re more…. So much more. Not only do I highly recommend them, I cannot recommend them enough to do justice for just how wonderful they are. Your children will grow, thrive, and flourish here. I know my babies sure have.

I would say that if you’re looking to work without your kids being sent home, if you have multiples this isn’t the daycare facility for you. My employee has been missing countless days of work recently (under new ownership) due to this daycare sending her children home constantly for bogus excuses just because they’re understaffed. They also let her child fall off the changing table, but said he was fine. She later upon picking him up had to take him to the ER for the massive contusion on his head.I would second guess this facility in your search for your children.

I am pleased with all of the staff at this facility. They work really hard to take care of the kiddos and have the kids best interest at heart. In my opinion, they actually go out of their way to accommodate parents and kids.... especially when the kids need a little extra grace. Definitely thankful.

The way they have treated my friends kids and her is just beyond unbelievable! You’re supposed to feel at ease dropping your babies off while you go to work not worried if someone is actually watching them or mistreating them!

This school was heaven on earth before it was sold in May of 2022. My kids attended this school for almost 4 years. I can’t stress this enough, if you have another option then this school, choose the other option.

Very unprofessional staffing and management. Poor customer service while also having problems involving your child disregarded. 10/10 don’t recommend. Wouldn’t even go here if it was the last and only daycare open. Keep your kids safe and keep away from here!!!

Cherokee Academy was great until they let my nephew fall off the changing table and didn’t document it or call the parents! RED FLAG!!

The director is in a huge power trip and the owner support this aggressive behavior towards parents who are just trying to drop their kids off to support their family

We moved to Georgia in 2017. At the time, our daughter was 3 years old and had been going to the same daycare/learning center, full-time since she was 8-weeks old. We originally enrolled her in a different childcare facility, within Cherokee county and we just weren’t pleased with the curriculum (lack of), or the staff. We felt like we were dropping her off at an overpriced babysitter who was only there for the paycheck. With the anxiety of moving her again only months after our initial transition, we decided to give Cherokee Academy a try. We are so incredibly thankful that we made that decision. It is a family-owned and run facility with lots of heart. We love the staff and our daughter loves going to “school” there. Thank you, Cherokee Academy, for taking such great care of our PRJ!

We have two kids that attend Cherokee Academy. One has attended for several years and is getting ready for PreK there and the other just started in the infant room. The teachers are wonderful and caring and we are really lucky to have such a great place nearby. Being teachers, as well as parents, we wanted to find a place the offered both academic and social development for our boys. Our 4 year old has thrived here and misses his classmates/friends during the breaks. Our son in the infant room is well taken care of and his teachers continue all the things we do at home. We highly recommend Cherokee Academy. We could not be happier.
