Visited this gym several times recently while traveling. It is a large facility that is well-equipped and clean. I will visit again.

Place is really trash the staff is not friendly, not clean, and too small. I had a silver sneakers and it expired and I went in the gym with my brother who has a premium membership and they called me later and was like due to policy u can either come to gym and sort it out or we’ll call the cops well I got there and he’s like u don’t have to do anything just if u keep coming we will call them and im like I can’t just come with my brother as a guest and he said no, stay away from this place

Needed to cancel my membership as I do not live in Calhoun anymore. They charge $100 to cancel your membership. I would stay away from them for that alone.

STAY AWAY - this gym is the prototypical "shady" gym that will continue to try bilking you for fees even when you follow the explicit terms of the written agreement to cancel auto-renewal of membership. The staff is either incompetent or purposely unhelpful with administrative matters. Do not give them your bank information. I signed up for a year membership, ending at the end of October 2022. I was going to switch jobs at the end of September 2022 that would take me out of the area, so I attempted to notify the gym while I was still in Calhoun that I would not be renewing my membership. I called them on the phone and was told I had to provide notice of non-renewal in person and I could come in any time during normal work hours to do so. When I went in, however, I was told the manager was not there and only he could process my notice and he wouldn't be back until the next week. The next week, I went in person and was told I could not "cancel" my membership without incurring an early termination fee. I told the person I did not want to cancel my current membership - I only wanted to make sure it did not auto-renew for another 12 months. I was told I could not do that until after the October payment had processed and I could only do it in person. That was a problem because, with my new job, I would be at least 3 hours away from the gym. I was not going to drive 6 hours round trip to provide notice of non-renewal. So, I reviewed the membership agreement, which specifically stated I could provide notice of non-renewal via certified mail to a specific address. No explanation from the gym why I was being told I could ONLY provide notice in person when the written agreement specifically provided otherwise. I sent the notice exactly as the agreement provided. I also emailed the gym telling them the same. Given my interaction with the gym to that point, I did not trust they would not renew my membership despite these notices, so I put a hold on the bank draft following the final payment of my one-year membership. My intuition was correct because the gym did, indeed, attempt to renew my membership despite my sending notice pursuant to the terms of the agreement and then began constantly calling complaining that my payment was not processing. I called and emailed the gym multiple times after that letting them know that I sent notice not to renew my membership, that I did not owe them anything, and to stop calling re payment. Nobody I spoke to had any idea that the agreement specifically provided for notice via certified mail. Instead, they kept insisting I had to physically show up to cancel despite my being 3 hours away. They refused to remedy the situation and I kept getting calls requesting payment. Now I've started receiving calls from a debt collector. This place is shady - stay away.

Staff was not very nice. Felt very uncomfortable. Just go to Planet across the street if you need a gym.

Looking for a gym close to work, and the reviews here make it hard to even get a membership.

This gym has lost the best trainers due to poor management. I have been charged $180 for personal training for months that I have tried to cancel but no staff is available and no one answers the phone. I finally got ahold of the owner CJ today and he told me it wasn’t his problem and hung up on me. There are lots of fantastic gyms in Calhoun. Do not waste your money here.

Editing to add that the review from Elise Wright is misleading, as she is an employee of Workout Anytime.

The owner CJ is very rude, unprofessional and unwilling to help out his members. He hung up on me and told me it wasn't his problem after I had an issue being charged for personal training I cancelled.
