Peggy Slappey served on the local board of Braselton. Seeing as how she is a local realtor with ties to many builders, she and any realtor on the board at the time have no business in voting on whether to build townhomes/homes they seek to directly benefit from. The board very clearly recommended against this particular project, but the realtors on the board, including Peggy Slappey, refused to recuse themselves from voting, despite having been heavily urged to recuse themselves by other members of the board.Every man, woman, and child who reside on this road (Beaver Dam Rd, Hoschton) packed the room in attendance united in opposition to this project of 110 town homes on our tiny dead end road. It was a standing room only. This project will add at least 200 more cars our road simply cannot handle. There was no traffic study conducted, and every person on this road, who are the only parties directly affected by this, were totally ignored. For the final vote, the room is packed with residents in opposition and the two realtors on the board are the parties who swayed the vote, approving this horrid townhome project. As many of us know, cheap townhomes bring nothing but crime and more traffic, and any additional tax revenue from this project would be lost in cost associated with policing the area and altering traffic. A reasonable solution would be less densely packed single family homes, which none of us would oppose, but of course where’s the massive profit in that?Peggy Slappey and any realtor had NO business voting on this issue considering their ties to local real estate and builders. This vote was corrupt to the core, and now the issue cannot even be legally fought in our own county now as that tiny piece of land was annexed into Braselton from Hoschton before the vote even came to the table! That is correct, the entirety of Beaver Dam Rd and it’s 22 homes are Hoschton, but the random sliver of land was annexed into Braselton just for this project as they know it would never get by the Hoschton/Barrow county board.Peggy Slappey left this office less than a month later likely knowing this was to be her final vote, likely knowing her reputation in the community would be significantly harmed, which it is.I am presenting this to the community so you are free to make up your own mind on who you’re dealing with. But make no mistake, she looked at a packed room of children, mothers and fathers, straight in our eyes and gave us the collective finger. Our lives are about to be changed in a horrible manner forcing most of us to leave the road because of this monstrous project and the horrid issues they bring.

Our experience with being first time home owners was amazing thanks to our realtor Laura English through Peggy Slappey brokerage! She bent over backwards to made sure everything was perfect and made everything so easy and simple for us! She was there all hours of the day to answer any questions or concerns we had and made everything go so smoothly! She truly cares and has a genuine love for all her clients!

I read some of the other reviews and I am so shocked to see these stories. I am working with Laura English and she has been nothing short of simply amazing. She has advocated for us at every turn. She helped us get $5000 in upgrades, negotiate the price of the house and she sent her to her lender who is also super awesome. She even got our counters upgraded to marble and granite at NO cost to us!!!!! Every question I have she answers if she doesn't know she will find out and she is always available to us. I love her to the moon and back again. I wished others could have met her and had a better experience.

8/12/2022-Response to the response-I could never trust anyone at EMC Homes or Peggy Slappey Properties after the encounter we had with both parties. Any ethical person should avoid doing business with both companies.
Original Post-Unethical group! You can't believe these people at any point in the process. We did believe them in the beginning but paid for it in the end. They will say whatever they need to say to get the contract signed then will act unethically throughout the process.

Charles is one of a kind. He went above and beyond to ensure my wife and I are completely satisfied with our home purchase. Every moment leading up to the sale, and every moment after the sale, Charles remains readily available. I cannot recommend his services enough. I think of him as a friend before a realtor, and truly believe he puts the client before a sale. The next time we sell/buy a home, our first call will be to Charles.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with one of their Agents, Wayne Kelley. Wayne clearly has no idea how to talk with Customers. They are so quick to move you into their Homes but don't want to actually fix the mistakes they made on the previous homes they sold. Best believe I will make sure EVERYONE in phase 2 knows exactly how this process worked with our Warranty.

What a pleasure to have a trusting, long term relationship with such a professional organization. There are many things I appreciate about Peggy Slappey Properties. Namely, their ongoing commitment to God, family, civic, community and charity events. Their overall desire is to enrich and promote others to enjoy a fulfilled life.Mary Kelley has been my real estate agent for years. I have bought, sold, and used her as lease manager on one of my properties for several years. On one particular sale, she had me under contract and closed in 11 days. Granted this circumstance is probably very rare, it was made possible thanks to her negotiation skills and relationships with lenders and attorneys. I consider her my lifelong agent.

Peggy Slappey Homes are absolutely beautiful! I enjoy taking my clients to visit them, as I know they will look fantastic and show easily. I also adore their agent, Sonya Turner, as she has always been extremely helpful and friendly, making transactions work seamlessly.

I worked with this agency for the past 8 years, specifically with Amela Ahmed. She helped me buy and sell 4 different properties. She took away the burden of paperwork while we focused on our move. She was always helpful in her suggestion of which property best suited us for the purpose we wished to buy for. As our family expanded, so did our needs and she was there whenever we needed her. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to getting a loan. If you want an agent through which you will have NO headaches, go with Amela. She's the best!

I love being a PSP agent. Everybody treats their clients with such a high level of respect that can't be matched elsewhere. All my fellow agents, and especially our broker, Peggy Slappey, deliver great customer service because we understand how important this is to a family during the buying and selling process. If you are looking to buy and/or sell there is always an agent at Peggy Slappey Properties ready to work for you. If you are an agent looking for a new broker, this is the place to be.

We have had the pleasure of dealing with Mary and Theresa and many of the wonderful office staff on 2 homes. They were patient and reassuring with us as we learned the ropes on our first home purchase. We must have asked 100s if questions. Each time we received immediate responses and thoughtful answers. There was no question who to go to when it was time to move on to a bigger home as our family grew. 100% Recommend! Will be returning in a decade when its time to down size as we become empty nesters! We love our house too much to even think of leaving before then!

We had a great experience using Charles as our realtor. We were from out of town so he was always willing to drop whatever he was doing and come meet us to look at houses sometimes at the most random times and even in middle of what seemed like a monsoon one day. He goes above and beyond to make sure to find exactly what your looking for. I don’t think of Charles as only our realtor but also a friend now. He made us feel welcome to the new area. We can’t thank him enough! We have now moved into our home and are getting settled in, so if you are moving to the area give him a call for sure!

I want to thank Sonya Turner and Tekla Sheffield for the outstanding attention and service they showed my wife and me, in making the purchase of our new home in Northside Commons a smooth transition from Dacula.
Had it not been for these two real estate professionals we still might be looking for the “perfect” place but, after several visits to the community and guidance from Sonya and Tekla we found our new “forever” home.
I would not hesitate to recommend the team of Sonya Tuner and Tekla Sheffield
to anyone looking to purchase a home.
Best of all we now have two new friends.
