It had been 4-5 years since my wife and I played bar poker and after playing last night at Anchor Bar I remember why it had been that long. While the venue and wait staff were accommodating, the TD was unwelcoming, impersonable, and downright dour. The play was as poor as I remember with the table captain's role played by the know it all woman who would be better as a condo commando. There was the gentleman pro at the table who commented on the flop, turn, river and every bit of action whether in the hand or not. And of course there was the woman at the end of the table who should have surgery to remove her phone from her hand. The chip ups were ridiculous with players buying all kinds of food and drink that was not consumed in order to get more chips. I realize it is not about the poker, but to generate revenue for the venue, but it was painful to be there and the way to eliminate the pain is to avoid the cause. Count us out, this time for good.

Not bad. Nice tourney but the blind structure goes too fast after they've got you to spend your money. It takes any form of skill out of the game and becomes bingo when the blinds and timer move at 'let's get this over with' speed.

This is one of the better free poker clubs they are decently structured and usually on time. All the people I met running or helping to run the games are great. And though it's free it's also pretty competitive
