There are some good stylists in the salon. However, there is one ,in particular, that it appears is lacking significantly. I had the pleasure of being in the salon for about four hours and was able to watch the work of all the stylists on multiple clients. This one stylist in particular raked through my daughters hair completely dry to detangle. This caused a significant amount of breakage, but by the time I noticed, too much was on the floor.
The style was for medium natural hair box, braids, and the size of the parts equated with probably about an extra large. This person stated that they are not a "Braider however they braid." If they don't do the particular style, then they should just say they don't do it however, during previous conversations, they indicated that they do natural hair box braids with no added hair; which was the style.
I had the pleasure of watching about 2 to 3 of this particular stylist's clients and none of them looked good at all in terms of Hair. Many walked out with just limp hair and multiple split ends. There were, to the contrary, two other stylists who were present and produced very good hairstyles on their clients.
It seems that you have to take the good with the bad sometimes. I'm going to refrain from naming names however I am pretty sure upon entering the salon, if you wait for five minutes, you will know the person in question who is lacking.

CRISTINA GOTTILLA is the owner of Family Hair Design & Barber. Her salon has been in business since February 5, 2003. She is the source of the immoral and unethical attitudes of the barber and the three hairdressers that work in the salon. Cristina is the culprit. She consistently does what she wants to do with your hair verses what the customer has clearly requested. The mindset that she promotes at her salon, amongst her staff, is to have the attitude that they are doing the customers a favor. Cristina Gottilla conscientiously put an easy liner, that is designed to be used to utility drawers and cabinets, in my hair when she sewed the weave into my hair which caused me to develop a bald spot in the top of my head. When she put the weave in my hair, she agreed to give me the hair style that I requested which required all my hair to be covered up. But, she never had no intention in giving me the weave hair style that I showed up her weeks before my hair appointment and the day of my appointment. She verbally told me she would give me the exact weave style that I selected , but she lied . And, made no attempt to give me the simple weave hair style that I requested. Also, she purposely cut my hair when she took the weave out. She caused a scene in the salon talking all loud and lying saying that I have alopecia hair loss when I do not. I did go to a Dermatologist this week. I was informed that my insurance company would not pay for medication to get my hair to grow back if it was not specified in my medical record that I have alopecia. So, it was a catch 22 situation. To address the ball spot that developed in the crown of my head because of the way Cristina Gottilla put the weave into my hair, the doctor had to write me a prescription for a drug that his design to treat hair loss. For 8 months, I spent a considerable amount of money and time getting my hair back to healthy long state. Cristina Gottilla put a weave in my hair in January 2024 and my hair felled out. Now, I am back to square one. I had numerous problems with her. She does not like to do a customer's hair the way they are instructing her to do their hair. She deserves to be cremated.

Nicole is the best!!! She never performs a service that she feels will damage my hair no matter how hard I push. My hair has never been as healthy as it is now and I love the bond we have created! Nicole is a hair god send!

My 1st appointment with Nicole at Family Hair was amazing. The place was clean and the music was easy. Nicole was awesome from the shampoo to the cut and style. Most important we started on time with no distractions. I highly recommend.

Thamar cut my hair. She is very skilled and talented. Thamar explained how she had to blend the cut. came out nice. I buy all these doggone curl products, but Thamar used mousse and S-curl spray and my hair curled perfectly!!!
