If I could give zero stars I would. They are very rude over the phone. Their adoption prices are astronomical.I called looking for a missing dog and all they could say was that they were at capacity and couldn’t take surrenders. Well it wouldn’t have been a surrender as my dog ran off this morning.I couldn’t believe how I was spoken to.*edited to add that they never once tried to help. When somebody is looking for a dog you don’t need to continually state that you are at capacity. That is not what is being asked. Instead why don’t you start with asking what type of dog. And contact info in case somebody try’s to drop them off.

I got my dog from here 3 years ago and was looking to get a new one. Why in the world are the dogs so expensive now? Actually it's not just the animals but even at the thrift store everything is expensive. I loved this place and this breaks my heart. I can't even afford $250 for a dog. That needs to go towards its food.

This is a great place for what it is. Very clean staff very friendly. U can't just see the fur babies u need to look online first. I didn't like that. I wanted to walk thru and look at all but that is a no.

Adopted my little girl Abigail. She is happy and healthy. Personnel are caring and personable, and though access to the facility was limited, it appeared clean and well maintained.. I do wish there was access to more of the animals than limited access at an appointment. You never know who might take your heart .

Wonderful, loving animal shelter! The folks there really care about the animals and make every effort to take care of them and love them until they are adopted. The appointment and adoption process is easy. We love our new dog and we are grateful to HSMS for a great match!

Beautiful animal shelter with scenic views. Adoptable dogs and cats await forever homes. They have an application process that is easy to complete for adoption. Appointments to meet a dog or puppy are highly recommended but not necessary. Cats and kittens are also available to meet during their regular operating hours. Highly recommend checking them out if you're looking to add a new furry friend to your home.

Please make sure you understand that, despite needing an appointment to see a dog, they operate on a “first come first serve” basis. We made an appointment to view a specific dog, made it clear we were coming from an hour and a half away, and received a call 20 minutes before our appointment (an hour and 10 minutes into our drive) notifying us that someone came and adopted said dog that we had an appointment to see a different one. We were never notified of their policy prior to this and made the assumption that because we had an appointment to visit with this dog, she would be there when we arrived. The easy solution would have been to ask the other family to wait and allow us to visit with the dog first, but we were not shown that courtesy. We were then spoken to very condescendingly by the manager. We can only hope that the family who was allowed to adopt the dog we were going to see will treat her with love and kindness.
