I just finished my first class at Garage Door with Shannon (@DaisyLionsStudio). Shannon gave me an entirely fresh start with watercolors and her techniques, plus and a confidence to paint more! Loved it and highly recommend! I’ll be adding her October class for a second round.

I absolutely love this store! The business brings inventory in from local artists and every time I visit the store I always find something new. There is something for everyone and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If you’ve never been here I urge you to check it out. I’ve referred so many of my friends and family and they are always pleasantly surprised with all the beautiful things. GDS is always at the top of my list when I visit Avondale Estates!!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful Garage Door Studio is. It’s my go-to for almost any gift and a little something for me. They have a variety of choices in jewelry, home decor, food, drink, clothing, and even soaps and scented delights from local artists. They’re always changing their decor, and the artists bring in new things consistently. Narrowing it down is your biggest challenge here. Pick up a crystal on your way out for yourself!

I recently visited as a way to introduce myself to the neighborhood as a business owner and it felt as if "my kind" wasn't wanted there. Not friendly and since they didn't address me I went out of my way to introduce myself... no positive greeting at all. It was as if I was bothering them or I was a danger to them.I just read a recent Google review where someone experienced the SAME treatment as if they wanted them to "stay on their side of the tracks/as if we were shoplifters." It was heartbreaking because I showed it to my wife and told her "they did the same thing to me."If we both felt strong enough to stop and leave reviews with the same experience then you need to do some serious reflections on how y'all treat African-Americans or just come out and tell us if we are welcomed there at all.My wife wanted to go back but it isn't worth our time or money.Sad this still exists.

This shop has items from different artists in the Atlanta area. It is a great place to find pretty much whatever you are looking for. The owners and staff are welcoming and accommodating. I highly recommend this store to anyone who appreciates local artists and locally made products!

I make it my business to support local businesses & Garage Door Studio certainly is one of the spots that I search for. The merchandise is good, but I will never shop there again because of the attitude of the owners/workers. I have been in GDS several times & I have spent close to $400 & they (both owners) treat me like a shoplifter. Well a shoplifter would be an upgrade because most people will acknowledge a "person of interest". I often get the feeling that the owners feel like people that look like me should stay on "our" side of the tracks. And, in this particular case that is exactly what I will do. I don't care if they were having a 99% off sale, I will never step foot in there again. Sadly, I don't even think it would matter to them.
