I purchased a game here for xbox for my husband for Christmas. No one asked me the series he had. I email corporate and no response. I spent $243 in this store with $80 gone down the drain. I am pissed off and its unfair and they sold me a warranty with a freaking game we cant use . What a terrible way to take advantage of a wife. And a shopper. I will never spend another cent at game stop

Came here and the line was long but the employee with the blonde hair was just casually talking on the phone without a care in the world.

My name is Alexandria Payne and I am writing this to share a terrible experience at the East West Connector store in Smyrna Ga.I recently upgraded my iPhone and wanted to sell my old one. I already have an offer from Apple but literally didn’t feel like waiting on the appointment so my boyfriend suggested I sell my phone to GameStop (which is located in our neighborhood). I wasn’t familiar with the process as I am not a frequent customer at GameStop so I called the store first. The store I called was the Cumberland Mall location, and after asking detailed questions about their trade in process… I was confident that I would bail on Apple and sell my phone to GameStop because it was way more convenient for me. The store rep I spoke with on the phone at Cumberland Mall walked me through the online quote process on GameStop’s website. He explained that once I arrived in store, a representative would run a test on the phone and evaluate its condition. We discussed that the phone had a very small hairline fracture on both the front and back of the phone so when I competed the quote online, I selected “fair” condition out of the options that were listed as “very good, good, fair, and poor”. The quote I was given was around $300. I then emailed the quote to myself and went in store. I realized the store I called was not the location that was closest to me but it’s still a GameStop so I still went in. I walked into the store and Kelly greeted me. He then asked me if he could help me with anything and I said that I had completed an online quote for a phone trade in. As soon as I mentioned phone trade in, Kelly rolled his eyes and began to sigh. He then began to list off reasons why I shouldn’t sell my phone with GameStop, saying that the quote online will not match in store, they are strict on their policy, etc. I’ve worked in retail before so it was immediately clear to me that the service I had just requested is one that bothers Kelly all the time. He was immediately frustrated when I said I wanted to trade a phone. As Kelly went through the phone check process, I watched as he made selections for the prompts on the computer. The computer first asked him for a condition of the front screen of the phone and Kelly selected “poor”. The computer then asked for the condition of the back of the phone and Jelly selected “poor”. I didn’t have a problem with these selections as the phone does have a very small hairline crack on the front and back. Could Kelly have selected “fair”? Yes, but he chose not to. He’s the employee… so it’s his prerogative. However, the next question asked about the screen quality of the phone. Kelly selected “poor” again. His phone check ended up giving me a value of about $45. This was a MAJOR difference from what I was quoted. When I asked Kelly why he selected poor for the screen quality on a phone that had no screen quality issues, he got more frustrated and began to talk over me and basically told me to go to the store I spoke with on the phone. This interaction was extremely bazar. The way Kelly immediately treated me - like I was doing something wrong by coming into a store and requesting a service that the company offers; was more than upsetting and I plan to file whatever complaint GameStop will allow me to file because this was just so inappropriate. I’ve managed a retail store before and I get that there are some tasks that are annoying but I never in all my experience took that out on a customer. I’m going to do exactly what Kelly told me to do- I’m going to the other location. I am going to take note of their phone check process and compare it with what I experienced with Kelly at the East West Connector location. My hope is that by naming this person and leaving this review, I will have shed light on a situation that GameStop will hopefully rectify. Also adding photos of phone so everyone can see the “poor” condition Kelly says it’s in.Please let me know what steps I need to take in order to file an official complaint about this.

Kid who works here closes store at 7:26pm, & locks gates for over 2/3 weeks-sits inside to eat food & not work. Report to corp, let’s get someone in here who will work/do the job they’re being paid for!

there seems to be absolutely zero communication between individual stores and gamestop corporate. Dont ever pay in cash for anything at gamestop, lest you need to do a chargeback. Youll wait hours on hold to speak with a customer service rep over trivial issues that should be able to be handled by a store manager. I am also given conflicting or contradictory information by employees all the time when asking about pre orders or picking up games.

Super Sketchy Experience. I made a pickup at store order, at this location and I got a text saying that my order was picked up, but I was at work not at gamestop. So I called a few times and of coarse nobody picked up. So then I had to wait an hour and a half on the phone to get in touch with customer service. Thankfully they were very understanding and gave me a refund...hopefully. This gamestop needs to be more careful. I am pretty understanding and patient enough to wait on hold to get things figured out, but your messing with peoples money and they absolutely will not be as patient as me. Gamestop has a middle management problem that they need to figure out asap.

I just wanted to leave a good review for this location, I came in during a rush to trade in my console and received excellent service from all the employees (Atem, Chris, and James ) and wanted to give them all the recognition they deserve for thier hard work, positivity, and fun atmosphere they gave the store!
