Great store thats been in it's location since 1930, and in the Augusta area since 1898. Full of amazing vintage pieces, some of which have never been worn. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Don't forget to say hi to the meowanger Candy!

Rubens is a clothing store. It has a cool authentic retro atmosphere and a wide selection of hats, dresses, men’s ware and more. Super customized service. Great prices, too !

This was such a wonderful find! It was like taking a trip back to the 80s- many items looked like what I remember my parents wearing and were in brand new condition. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and helped us find several pieces that we will treasure for years to come.

I was flying out of Augusta and stopped by Rubens on the way out. Everything from the buildings, the clothes and the staff were fantastic.I could have left with everything but decided on a vintage black polo shirt for work. Maybe next time I can meet the store kitty.Thank you for having me.PSThe two ladies working yesterday went above and beyond.

My mother used to work there when she was a teenager and when I came back to Augusta 20 years ago it was still open I was shocked .....that was 20 years ago and this morning I was downtown Augusta walking Broad Street and saw that it was closing ...,,,it had the pictures of their past in the window let me say to you Ruben’s department store .....thank you for so many wonderful years even though I never shop there ..,,,you were an icon in Augusta!!

I found this store recently on a visit to Broad Street in Augusta and was absolutely delighted! It has a real retro vibe, like the department stores I visited as a teenager in the 1970s, and it is a very nice change from a Macy's in a giant shopping mall. There is a huge amount of stock, and, contrary to the comments of some posters, it is NOT obsolete junk. On my visit I purchased five dress shirts, US made(!), for $18 each, and they are fully of the style and quality of my last purchases from Macy's and Dillard's. I purchased a pair of Calvin Klein dress slacks for the same price as a Macy's 'Family & Friends' special, and they were altered while I waited at no charge. I purchased a beautiful Kangol ivy cap for the same price as offered by the on line hat shops. Ask about prices, some things are on sale. Staff very helpful, talked me out of some things that I was interested in but they didn't think fit me well! I am very much looking forward to visiting them again when I have more time to shop! Thank you, Ruben's!

Gee what a relic from the past. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I remember back in the day. Rubens was a place you really wanted to shop. People still shop here. The clothes look 70 to 80ish. It's nice to stroll memory lane. Smells stale like a funeral home. The have a few furniture items. Home accent pieces as well. I enjoyed my visit here. Men suits and clothing are stylish and on sight alterations if needed. It's nice to patronize businesses that's been around a long time. They still have mink coats. You never know what you might find.
