They do the best they can with their manpower and the huge number of people they service. It can be a little cumbersome, but it can also save you a lot of money. Learn the process, write it down, and it gets easier. They are also available for questions.

Now one more hurdle and it is a big one, call a number to text get in line to activate the prescription that the doctor has written. The problem is I have been calling that number for two days and it is always busy! Not helpful to say the least!

I was helping a friend get a Rx. There was a mix-up at the MD office and the script was sent to CVS. Roda at the front desk of EAMC pharmacy was a God send. She explained to me what needed to be done AND remembered me when I returned. She went above & beyond and got the Rx filled quickly. Thank you Roda. You are a gem.

Words are not enough for me to express my headache with the pharmacy.

Worst experience. The system has rapidly evolved into a major abuse of military members and their families. I spend hours waiting for prescriptions that I may or may not get. The people at the service windows remain some of the best but unfortunately in a broken system. I have moved all of my prescriptions to my local pharmacy where I wait 5 minutes. I pay a copay but it is worth the time it saves. Just another broken promise to take care of those who served.

Be warned, apparently they're operating a new system where you must "activate" a prescription to be filled even if your provider input it at an appointment. This is unheard of and the doctors do not tell you this, they simply say pick it up next day like it always has worked. When it's someone's job to stand at the check in area and turn away uniformed, dependents, and retired personnel then clearly there is an issue. This does not apply to ER prescriptions.

Civilian Doctor submitted prescription for my wife's pain medication (Percocet) on Tuesday, 14 Dec 22. On Friday, 16 Dec - I Received phone message "Prescription ready for pick-up". Drove to Ft. Gordon and sent message "I am here". Immediately received 2 messages saying prescription was not ready and a message saying "prescription required Prior Authorization". Same medication prescribed for at least 1 year. Also "Q" number assigned was the same as others in line. Was told there was a glitch in system. Asked what was the problem with subscription. No intelligent response was received. Contacted civilian Doctor. Was told they tried calling Ft. Gordon Pharmacy for over an hour, but phone line always busy. I then called Tricare/Express Scripts and spoke to a pharmacist, was told there were no special requirements for this medication. They didn't understand why a Prior Authorization was being required. Tried calling Eisenhower Pharmacy but could never get through. On Monday, 19 Dec, I finally got thru to FG Pharmacy. was told the prescription would be re-entered in the system, but I had to allow at least 2 business days for processing. On Thursday, 22 Dec, at 0830 I sent "Get in Line" message. Response received was, "Pharmacy Virtual line has reached capacity - resubmit your request the next duty day." On Friday, 23 Dec., 0830, sent "Get in Line" message. Response received was same as previous day. On Monday, 26 Dec, sent message and received same response.12 DAYS FROM ORIGINAL PRESCRIPTION SUBMITTAL FOR A PAIN MEDICATION AND STILL NO MEDS. Is there a problem with the new prescription system, ya think ?

the entire process is mediocre! if it’s urgent you’re better off paying the copay elsewhere!

Last time I came to the pharmacy I did the automated system the day before & received the text ur meds are ready. Came the next morning when the pharmacy open. Only 2 windows was open & the waiting area was packed. They did not call no one for over an hr after they was open. Then I waited an extra hr to get my meds. Today tried to request my meds via text message & was told it is full try tomorrow. HUH??? What kind of service is this? Now I'm here again waiting lucky the lobby is not full but once again only 2 windows open & one that says hard copy drop off. An hr after opening they opened a 2nd window. Now after an hr of waiting I'm told that I cannot pick up my meds today. Worst service ever.

For them to be servicing millions active and retire is awesome. And if you don’t want to wait have your medicine go to private companies and pay for it.

This is awful! And it’s really bad since the GENESIS system is in place. “If it wasn’t broke don’t bother fixing it”!!

This was the worst experience of my entire life. 21 years in military and NEVER had a place like this. I have been waiting 5 hours for my prescription to be filled. Will never come back here
