I did not take my pet. I discovered that they are not obligated to keep the animals. Thus, they will put them to sleep. ?.

I'm mainly reviewing bc the two one star reviews are from one person who got turned down for adoption bc they wanted to cut a cats knuckles off (declawing) and the other bc someone missed their appointment for volunteer orientation. Think of the animals instead of yourselves. Rescue is unforgiving and hard and these are petty reasons to leave a bad review for an animal rescue. That said, this is a no kill shelter! Go and see if your soul pet is there waiting for you.

It's more profitable to answer the phones and return messages as if the person on the line is prepped to donate $100. Otherwise you chase off every donor and volunteer you could ask for.I may not have $100, but I did have $25 for the old spay and nueter vouchers you used to offer. Since no one will answer me if you are offering this again, and your website is down, I guess I'll have to take my money elsewhere. Also, stop making your volunteers leave 5 star reviews defending your actions. There is no excuse for rude, lazy, or careless behavior. Why should I trust any animal in your care if you can't even be human towards me?

People want to complain so much bad stuff about these shelters but yall Rember if people would take responsibi for thier animals they wouldnt be in theses places. These fur babies have a heart ♥ and soul and deserve love and happiness .Don't get a animal if you not going to take care of it.It a big responsibility just like having children is a big responsibility.

Stop complaining and start volunteering. If you're saying the lady was rude then I'm assuming she needed help. Did you offer to clean!? Did you offer to donate food? Did you offer to help them whenever they at least make sure to keep them under a roof and not kill them!? People with negative remarks and no remark about their own experiences in helping really upset me. If you have nothing nice to say after doing NOTHING then let that stay to yourself please. I look forward to adopting our next family member there so my fur son can have a sibling to love and grow with...I don't mind if it stinks etc, and yes I will definitely offer to assist in any way I can. That's what good people do!!!

I need to start out by saying the staff here are very pleasant and courteous. Taking time to discuss many things. However, I am so sad to even write this. I went to the Augusta Humane Society on Monday to adopt two older cats. When we came there we saw several cats outside and inside running around and just being cats/kittens. My heart was ready to adopt. Now it smelled like animals/stinky and I could tell that they had a very small budget, so please donate to this place. As we talked to the very friendly lady we realized that we were not "eligible" to adopt the older cats. The primary reason was our intentions were to declaw them in the front. The lady told me to "do the research" on declawing kittens/cats. She told me several times that not only did the Vet at the Humane Society not approve in declawing but one other local vet did not either. We were also told that other states like Maryland had laws that it was illegal. She also said it was illegal in many places overseas. So I did the research. The reason this against declawing even came up was from the Big Cats. Meaning, declawing exotic or native wild cat species. I did my research and found out Georgia HAS NO LAWS about this and this woman and her vet did not want to let anyone adopt these poor animals if they thought you would declaw. I have had cats who lived INSIDE the house for 21 years and they were declawed. Yes, I am saddened that this place have placed their own "opinions" over the needs of the animals. Too many animals need a loving home and sadly again, depending on the vets opinion, not Georgia legal laws, many will not ever find a home. Sad, sad, sad.

I give four stars because my only complaint was that they are the only no kill shelter in the area but they had no room for dogs but cats are everywhere can someone tell me who to contact in this area that is a no-kill shelter or do we only have one in the Augusta area

I have tried calling for weeks, no one will answer the phone in the morning or return a voicemail. I have messaged via Facebook and they will read the messages but not reply. I have sent e-mails with no reply. I'm not sure if they are actually open anymore.

They were very responsive to help me post the dog I found and thankfully reunited with his family in less than 24 hours. The post definitely helped spread the word outside my contacts and some helpful people also then shared the post. Very fast response for a business page. Im thankful!
