The historic American Hotel now run by Doubletree is a great value but not up to modern standards as it still remains much of the period charm of the 50's 60's and 70's which is still celebrated. See my photos. I enjoyed my visit and appreciate history. Be careful as there is valet parking only and they ding you $50 per night. Ouch!!

This review is more about Hilton customer service and the comical connection with the Hilton location here at tapestry. I paid for an advance purchase for me and my fiance to go to downtown Atlanta for memorial weekend, unbeknownst to us when we get there a massive water leak has shut down majority of downtown, and caused this hotel not to cancel reservations, but they STILL booked us saying it could come back at any moment knowing there was no running water or working toilets either here or anywhere downtown, let alone food you could eat at. $630 spent for the entire weekend, we decided to try to stay one night to see if it got better—it didn’t day two so we decided to leave. When calling customer service they told me the property had to do a return if possible to get our 3 unused days back, but the property kept saying they could not do it because it was an advanced purchase. I finally worked with Ricky who promised to get a refund taken care of, but in an effort to refund what was said to be 496 dollars, they actually CHARGED ME ANOTHER 496 dollars. Since then they corrected the mistake of the extra charge, but now 5 months later I’ve yet to get a refund for my initial stay and both Hilton customer service is terrible and the location refuses to have a sense of urgency in calling back to deal with this situation. I became a Hilton honors cardholder to save points for a wedding next year and think I’ve been a very reasonable guest considering the circumstances, but nobody is on the same page in your organization and it’s ridiculous to think a multimillion maybe billion dollar company is so pressed to hold onto my $500 dollars that was not fault and they wanted me and my fiance to stay in the hotel where you couldn’t even flush the toilet over the entire weekend.

The hotel was very nostalgic and had a cool vibe. The city, on the other hand, really needs to clean up the streets. I'd you look up my profile I travel a lot, and visit many global cities. The homeless encampments and drug ridden streets are some of the worst I've seen. I hope the citizens put some pressure on for change, it could be such a beautiful city.

This was first time at this hotel and it was great! The staff here were amazing. Maleeha, Eric, Mu, and Tenn were such great help and so nice. They made our stay way better. Meleeha gave us so many places to check out and it did not disappoint. Thank you to the Fantastic Four! ❤️ ohhh & the Breakfast bar was so good and clean and professional.

Arrived a bit early due to meetings ending early in the city, Tenn, the amazing hostess who checked me in, went above and beyond to not only find me a room early, but helped make my stay an incredible experience!
My room was spacious and comfortable, accommodations here were amazing! 10/10! Will stay here again!
Rooms: Rooms are spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. They are updated for modern electronics and the comforts expected at home.
Nearby activities: There were tons of restaurants, bars and attractions in walking distance e of the hotel, making a great meeting spot.
Walkability: The Olympic park, Sky of Atlanta (the big ferris wheel with a bar), and College Football Hall of Fame are all a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Honestly this is one of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel. The lady that checked us in was rude. The room I paid for was not provided and the shower had no hot water at all. I am so disappointed in my stay that if it wasn't for the fact we came here to see a concert I would not have stayed here but I can guarantee I will never stay here again.

Everything was great except the breakfast, there wasn't much to choose from and the food was plain, apart from that the service was incredible and the rooms were as expected. Overall I would choose this Hotel again.

Loved our stay. In town for a concert at stadium within easy walking distance. Staff at.front desk was charming and helpful. Dinner and drinks at the social were good. Only reason for 4 not 5 stars is we could hear folks next door like they were in our room. And the bathroom door that slides didn't slide very easily. I'd definitely stay again.

This Hotel do not have a Laundry Room. The parking it's not included in the fee. They have a pool area with big terrace. And for the season closed the pool and the external area. And don't open so you can enjoy the terrace. And have you trapped in the hotel. With no external area. My son has autism it's very hard to have him trapped in those litter rooms. I reserve in that hotel just for the external space. I'll talk to manager and hotel staff. Never open the terrace area. We still not In winter is October. The rooms are king of little. And just have cleaning and refills in the room just 1 one of 4 days I spent there. Not the Best.
