Not the best experience for this to my first time getting my hair braided. Before my appt she called to tell me she moved to another salon loft, when I arrived it wasn’t a salon loft, it was her loft. I sent her a photo of the hair I bought to confirm and she said it was fine and once done cornrolling my hair she said it was the wrong one. She tried to reschedule me for another day to finish because she said she had other clients even with it being her mistake. There were other things of unprofessionalism but overall I only gave the star because my hair came out nice.

First, Karmen’s website stood out to me because of its easy to follow/understand/book process. She also called me to make sure we were on the same page about hair and style, which I appreciated. She really has a heart for helping black women learn and understand hair care. She is also the first stylist I’ve had that had me walking away understanding my hair a bit more, in addition to a great styles . She’s in transition right now so there was some adjustments to the locale of service but in my opinion, it added to the overall experience of service. Good conversation and overall professionalism isn’t something you can fake when life be life’in - Karmen proved that! 10/10 recommend and I look forward to continuing my hair journey with her as well as seeing how her spot looks after the transition period!

I am so glad I found Super Dope Hair Studio! I am exceptionally pleased with my hair (Marley twists). My entire experience was more than pleasant. Karmen is attentive, prompt, professional, and a phenomenal communicator. She cares about the client experience as a whole! I plan to return for my next protective style as well. I love Karmen! Been coming here for around 3-4 years now, I believe, and love it. I got locs from her recently that I really like. Karmen is great to talk to and has become a close family friend of mine. Karmen was extremely unprofessional and her web site is a scam. Booked an appointment with her on NYE. She had an available slot and I was excited to get my hair done because of all the positive reviews. She kept calling me the day of my appointment making the suggestion that I cancel because she had NYE plans. Then called me back again saying she wasn’t sure if she wanted to take the appointment because she never met me. “I like to get to know my clients before hand because there are a lot of crazies out there. I’ll need to call you back.” The entire experience was weird. She is a very strange woman.She uses StyleSeat and I was charged for the service before I even got there and she claimed that I still needed to pay her in person and that I should dispute the charge. She offered to cancel without penalty and when I asked her about rescheduling after I was charged (because she kept pushing I cancel because of her NYE plans and I didn’t want her rushing through my hair) she never responded. Do not book here. It’s a scam. She will take your money and not respond.

Super Dope Hair is nothing to play about! Karmen is not only an AMAZING stylist but also person. You want someone who's not only going to take care of your beautiful tresses but also your overall well being. Get you a hairstylist that can do both!! I was traveling into the ATL area and was recommended by a family member to try Super Dope Hair out. The online booking process is very helpful, giving clients a thorough description of each hairstyle, the amount of hair to purchase, pricing and time. Initially, I accidentally selected the wrong hairstyle when booking on my phone (I was clearly not paying attention) However, Karmen was incredibly understanding and patient with me. Her professionalism and hospitality made the process of adjusting payment and appointment times painless. I ended up going with the MBL Box Braids. She doesn't use a lot of heavy products (No flakes or build up), braids are secure & scalp is not on fire, oh and them parts...flawless! What more can you ask for. Why you still reading!?...book her...like now! :)

Reviewing late because I didn’t want to be rude but reviews are so helpful for me so I thought I’d help someone else.Went there to get small, waist length box braids for my wedding in May. I provided example pictures of how I wanted them to look.She was running late and I was totally fine about it. I just waited in my car. When she said she was here I had a hard time figuring out to get in the building. She called and I asked for her help and she was rude about it to say the least. I shook it off. When I got inside I realized I forgot my hair in the car so I went to get it and she was visibly annoyed and rolled her eyes.When I finally sat down I said “thank you for being patient” and her response was, “I’m not.”Fine, shook it off.I told her my hair was fine so I needed small braids and she agreed my hair was very fine.I can’t remember how long it took. It wasn’t unbearably long but definitely wasn’t worth the time or money. When I saw my hair in the car I cried. My box braids were in triangle parts that looked more like random bunching of hair. The braids were way too big for my hair. They also weren’t waist length, they hit just under my chest.Sure the style maybe would’ve been fine for someone but definitely not me and not for my wedding. I took them out that evening and just took the L for the couple hundred dollars.I wanted a very particular look (but not one that is uncommon by any means) and I think that if she cared more about her work as a stylist she would be more committed to meeting that need. I chose her because from her website and reviews I thought she would be someone who was knowledgeable about natural hair, up to date on the braid aesthetics of today, cares about the overall health of natural hair and takes pride in her work. Based on my experience, that unfortunately wasn’t the case.I could have definitely moved past the attitude if I felt like the work was good but it just wasn’t unfortunately.

Karmen has been doing my hair for at least 7 years. Her braiding is meticulous and perfect!!! I always step out of her chair feeling beautiful! I will never go to anyone else for my box braids! Absolutely the best braider in ATL.Services: Box Braids

I have been a client with Karmen for around 3 years now, so this glowing review is long overdue! I'm one of those women that learned how to take care of their own natural hair just to avoid dealing with intense anxiety and unprofessionalism when it came to sitting in salon chairs to get my hair done. I think I simply stumbled across Super Dope Hair on Instagram, but I have never looked back since I did. Karmen is the only stylist I trust to touch my hair when I'm in need of some protective style time. She is so professional, passionate about providing quality hair care, communicative and punctual, offers ridiculously easy booking on her site/app, and has such a bright and magnetic personality. As an introvert, I never felt forced into that uninspired small talk or wanted to just sit in silence with her…I genuinely enjoy the thoughtful chair talk/laughs and the positive energy she carries. I'm also a big fan of her products that she crafts herself. Her Apple Cider Vinegar & Rosemary spray and Peppermint oil mix are definitely a part of my ritual to nourish my crown (hello growth!) while wearing protective styles. So anyways, all of this to say–she really is Super Dope and you should book that appointment!Service: Hairstyling

Karmen was wonderful! She did a great job with my Marley twists, asking the right questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. In addition to doing such a good job, she’s such a kind person and I really enjoyed chatting with her. I couldn’t recommend Karmen more!

Arrived late and had an attitude that I was late as well (3 minutes) I reached out to her prior to call me to get the details of what I needed to do. She didn’t call. I arrived without hair and when she told me that I needed the hair, I was upset because just like her my time was wasted but didn’t display it. Now before anyone’s says you should always bring your own hair, that’s not true many salons have their own hair and customers shouldn’t have to spend money just in case. I laughed it off and simply said ok where can I get it. Maybe she was having a bad day because she began to get really rude and offsetting. I could of got back with her and verbally tore her down but I just said let me get out of her before things get bad. Of course she charged my card for services she didn’t render but my bank refunded me. No loss for me. Anyway I found an amazing stylist and got the style I always wanted. the reviews are very different than my experience. But I didn’t let her touch my hair and got out of there. Never let an evil spirit touch your crown. The intentions are never good. Not a great interaction for me but to each their own.
