Great vet for bringing your personal pets and fosters too!! They do a great job of fitting you in whenever you have a limited schedule or immediate vet attention. The Dr Clarke is very knowledgeable about all animals as she has worked in the science area and is always extremely kind to the animals. The only issues I've ever had were with a potentially less experienced vet tech that had difficulty drawing blood several times on a couple of the dogs that I have brought in for routine bloodwork. The cost of care has seemed to be on the more reasonable side for the Atlanta area too. I'll continue to bring my furry friends here!

On 9/12 I took my 10 year old dog in because of a few peeing accidents in the house, which was out of character for her. I wanted to see if she was simply being lazy, if she maybe had a UTI or if something else was going on. Met with the Dr. and she recommended a series of tests be done to narrow down the problem. While there they checked my dogs urine and determined she didn't have a UTI. They took blood which was sent off to a contracted lab and gave me a something to take home to gather her feces for testing. I returned the feces to the vet and received the lab results in a few days from the feces with a note from Dr. Clarke saying everything looked good. Well, after waiting a week for the blood lab results, I called the office and was told that they were waiting on the results. Two days later I called again and was told the same thing. A second week passed and after sending several emails, texts and numerous calls I finally received a call from Dr. Clark advising she had the test results and apologized because she was consulting with a specialist about my dogs test results BUT everything was just fine and for me to monitor my dog and if it continues to bring her back in. She apologized for the delay and offered me a $100.00 credit to go towards future visits. ?I requested my dogs lab reports be sent to me. Well, I've called the office 4 times and spoke with vet staff. I've sent emails documenting my request and left numerous voice mails. They advised I should receive the lab results from their contracted lab. Well, it would seem to me that that's an easy fix. Simply send me the lab results that Dr. Clarke read to me over the phone. Instead, I received by email my dogs complete medical records, in which I don't request. I needed the current lab reports so that I could get my dogs teeth cleaned at another vet. Instead, I had to pay out out of pocket AGAIN because Dr. Clarke and her staff dropped the ball. I have owed dogs all of my life. With technology the way it is, there is absolutely no reason why I should not have a copy of something I've paid for. Plus the turn around time from the visit on September 12 to the call from the vet on September 21 to discuss these GHOST lab reports took entirety too long! Own up to the mistake and be honest about the situation. Instead of saying someone dropped the ball, I apologize. Please bring your dog back in and we'll redo the lab work. Don't offer me a discount for a future visit because I won't be back. Why not offer to credit my card that I used? I know Dr. Clarke or her associates will respond to this with some kurt a** response about this business is a pay for service type business. True, but where's the proof of the services render that I did pay for? Services I had to repeat at another vet! My pets are family to me. I don't have time to wait 2 weeks for test results and feel I shouldn't have to beg for copies of the lab reports that was supposedly done. I'm not risking my pets health on a vet that seems knowledgeable but maybe has staffing issues. I don't know what happened but I hope no one else has to experience what I went through. *To date, I haven't received copies of the lab reports. Not from vet nor contracted lab.

SVC was able to squeeze us in for a very last-minute appointment - we unexpectedly became owners of a rescue, and needed to get her up to date on vaccines, as well as just a good checkup, as she hadn’t been to a vet in years. I was able to get Indigo everything she needed for a very affordable price. The staff was so kind - they listened to Indigo’s backstory and treated her so gently and with lots of love. On top of that, they are just super friendly overall and very easy to talk to. Would definitely recommend this vet clinic to anyone.

This was by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had at a veterinarian, or any medical office. First, we were on time for my appointment but had to wait over an hour to be seen by anyone. There was no apology and no one even came in until I let them know how long we’d been there. After we were in the exam room, we waited another 30 minutes before we were seen. The “exam” was about 30 sec per cat and they didn’t vaccinate them even though they were due. I requested a sedative for an upcoming trip and the first vet I saw agreed and wrote the prescription only for Dr. Clarke to come in and say that we’d have to stay even longer to get blood work before prescribing, which contradicted what the first vet said. I also heard the vet and vet techs arguing about the correct dosage to give my cats, which made me nervous. Two hours later sitting in a very dirty exam room, no sedative, no vaccines - it was a complete waste of time and money and I can’t wait to find a new veterinarian.**Edit in response:Our first Dr. left for lunch (not an emergency) which YOU informed us of Dr. Clarke; you were all too happy to throw your colleague under the bus, which says a lot about your leadership, or lack there of. It also probably explains why your office is chronically understaffed. The issue is not the protocol - it’s that the first doctor was somehow unaware of this protocol, had already written a prescription before Dr. Clarke came in and shut it down. The problem was that we had been waiting 2 HOURS for an 11am appt, and we would’ve been waiting longer if I had not insisted that we be seen. I was not about to wait even longer for bloodwork. The comment about sedating is hilarious, and a bold faced lie, as both the Dr. and tech both commented on how calm and gentle both cats were.Additionally, I never stated I would leave a negative review, but I’m happy to do so, so that my neighbors won’t have to go through this. Please don’t make up lies to try and discredit this review; it’s embarrassing.I think the community would have a lot more respect for you if you owned mistakes, tried to correct them and moved on with your life.

I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here. The staff is very personable with a high level of professionalism. The facilities were very clean. They were busy for Saturday, but they were very accommodating to try to make appointment times. The veterinarian is extremely knowledgeable and definitely on top of her game. I have full confidence in this facilities capability of taking care of your pets. They offer several services including grooming, spayed and neutering, and even dental. Plenty of parking and nice grassy areas for your pets to relieve themselves if necessary. Trust isn't some easily earned especially when it comes to your pets, but this place has 100% of mine..

My dog was injured and we couldn't get an appointment at our regular vet, so I called Southwest and was able to come in the next morning. The vet techs were knowledgeable and friendly, and even though we couldn't afford the surgical services, I feel good about Rafa's treatment plan. I'm bringing his sister Millie in later today for her shots, and will probably switch all our cats over here, too!

Thank you Southwest Veterinary Clinic Staff and Dr. Makeba Clarke for taking care of my babies this week! It has been rough! Pet parents please be careful buying dog treats on Amazon! Some are not from the USA and other countries do not have the same standards for dog treats. My babies have been in gastric distress this week, but Dr. Clarke figured out it was their treats. I will never buy any food or treats from there again! Everyone at the office has been so helpful, supportive, professional and kind ! So glad to have such a great vet and her team taking care of my pets!

The hands down greatest vet I’ve gone to in Georgia. All the staff members are extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They even provide amazing services and care at affordable costs. I would give this place 100/5 stars if I could

I am not a fan and will not be going back again. The place looks extremely dirty. It doesn’t look like they clean the floors. My first visit was to get my dogs wound checked and see how it was healing. The vet took a look for one second and said it was fine. I asked her if I came back to get her stitches removed if there would be a fee and she said no so I made an appointment for another day to do so. When I come back to get her stitches removed they tell me that there is a fee because the surgery wasn’t done there. It would not have been a problem if they had told me there was a fee from the first place. I would have gone to the original place to get them removed free of charge. I also waited a really long time to be seen and wasn’t told I needed to email them my pups records prior to the visit so I could have had it ready. I was there for almost three hours for something that took one second. Also, you can hear all the dogs barking in the back from the room they have you in. My dog was not comfortable there.

Today we visited southwest veterinary clinic for the first time. We felt welcomed since the moment we crossed the door, I was anxious to go in since It was our first time there but all of the staff (reception, techs, veterinarian) are so nice and welcoming that my worries stayed out the door. The attention is great and they handled my babies Misty and Selma with love and care. They are very transparent with the pricing of the procedures as well which is highly appreciated. We will definitely come back. Thank you! ?

Our newest family member, Sir Walter Raleigh, loves his new vet. Dr. Clarke. Dr. Clarke was recommended by another Atlanta vet who is closing her practice. She told us she was excellent and a HBCU grad (Tuskegee in the house!). We are always excited to support black business and women owned business. The staff was very kind and loved on our puppy. The doctor was very knowledgeable and attentive. We are thrilled that we have found our new vet in Atlanta. We will be back for many years!

My first experience was great! I was greeted with a smile upon my arrival and my wait wasn’t too long after paper work was done.Romeo had a severe ear infection especially in his Lt Ear. Dr. Clark and Jasmine was superb and gentle with Romeo but they got his ears all cleared up cleaned out!Jasmine mentioned to me that they had Groomers….I was a lil hesitant at first because Romeo had had the same groomer for 8 years. It was tempting and very convenient for me to try, and I am so glad that I did. Romeo was groomed and I must say, Sara (the Groomer) I was so pleased. I am sure after he gets use to you, you will get plenty of Romeo kisses. Big shout out to Southwest Veterinary Clinic.
