I was a member of this facility as a kid growing up in the Blufff, the stafff gave us a sense of belonging, and provided, life skills, that I have this very day, Mr Thomas and Al GLong, Roy Tumor, worked here back in the 70 and 80's and under tier supervision, many boys and girls , from the near by nieghborhood, avoided mishaps, due tooo the dedication and safe haven of this boys and girls club, the impact and strong influence is what's missing in society today, I as a man lwarned the skilll of hard work, and rewards through the sports programs that I participated in, and sports teams that I played on, I found my first love , there , as she was a life guard @ the swimmung pool,I also, discovered my inter toughnest, that helped me survive, in the streeets and as a Veteran, I had my first ever fist fight , where , we was aloud too settled using boxing glives and conflict resolce under adult supervision, quite different these days, when kids, don't get those skills, l was fearful of my parents displine, but as a renforcment, I wss fearful of losing my Bellwood Membership Card and privilages, if I got in trouble up there, getting kicked out of the Club, woul d have been devestating for me, because, it was a place that alll my friends would be, after school.

ATLANTA'S little hidden treasure for our children in the community. The staff is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. There is after school and summer programs available. Membership fees are reasonable and worth it. !!!!

This is an Youth organization and community center in Atlanta, GA. I am glad to be a volunteer at this place. The volunteers have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with The Salvation Army here in Atlanta to provide help for all those in need. Often referred to as "the army behind The Army," volunteers play a crucial role in this ability to provide quality services. The Salvation Boys & Girls Clubs are managed by a volunteer Advisory Board and have professional staffs of trained personnel. In essence, the Boys & Girls Clubs are a place for youth, providing "fun with a purpose," and allowing each individual youth to have a say in what is going on - it is their Club. The Salvation Army owns and operates three Boys & Girls Clubs in Greater Atlanta. The purpose of our Boys & Girls Clubs is to provide youth development services and to promote the health, physical, social, educational, vocational and character development of boys and girls. The Boys & Girls Clubs program is designed to serve the needs of the "total youth." All programs are used by professionally trained staff as "tools" for youth development and meeting the individual needs of every boy and girl they serve. The experience that happens to a youth at the Boys & Girls Club have a positive experience in fun, learning and personal growth. Some of the programs that are really awesome such as The Health and Physical Development Programs, emphasizing sports leagues, individual sports, physical fitness, health and nutrition classes, medical and dental check-ups, summer lunch program and outdoor education. The Cultural Enrichment Programs, emphasizing arts and crafts, fine arts, photography, music instruction, learning center/library activities such as homework aid, reading and computer instruction, Youth Forums, and educational field trips. The Social and Leadership Development Programs, emphasizing games room activities, tournaments, quiet games, special interest clubs, Keystone, Torch and I-Can Leadership Clubs, special events, and inter-club activities.
