Thank you to all of the office staff that make my visit to see Dr Cestero efficient, timely, and smooth. It’s a large office, and the office staff has to be efficient to keep things moving and sick people seen.Thank you especially to Tammy who is superlative, helpful to both patients and staff. She was amazing in taking time out to resolve my insurance issue quickly.

Their 2.6 star rating is, once again, well-earned.

I definitely do not recommend this doctor/group. This was my first and last visit to Dr Cesteros. I called to make an appointment and explained I was on Medicare and had a supplement policy as well. I also explained that I did not want to incur a bill since Medicare covered a wellness check. Their response was that they accepted Medicare and it would be no problem. The appointment was on October 17. I received a bill in the mail for $175 on December 4th. It would have been covered by Medicare if they followed the Medicare rules. I called Medicare, and they said that the doctor conducted tests that were not medically necessary, and they denied the claim. My supplement stated the same thing. Medicare told me there were other charges that I have not yet been billed for that were not covered and I called Primary Care Physicians billing department. The billing department said that I should expect a total of $320 in charges that I would be expected to pay. I wonder why they wouldn’t tell me these things prior to my appointment. I do not expect to pay these expenses because I was misled. I have never left a bill unpaid in my life but this will be the first. This was my first visit to this doctor and it will be my last. I wish I had checked the Google reviews before making the appointment because I now see they get 2.6 stars. I’m very upset and I feel like I’ve been taking advantage of as a Medicare patient. I do not recommend these doctors for Medicare patients. Sounds to me like they’re working the system to live a highlife. I contacted Primary Care Physicians this morning and they said I should’ve contacted the in-house billing department so they transferred me I got a voicemail. No one has returned my call.

I had been going to this practice for about five years. On my last visit they filed my insurance incorrectly and sent it to the wrong company. I spent six months trying to resolve this. Each time I called the staff was rude and condescending. I spoke with Keisha and she said she was in her car and was about to get in an accident so she would call me back. She never did. I tried to reach Jodi several times and she never called back either. All I was trying to do was get their practice paid and paid accurately. I even offered to submit it to insurance myself but they never provided me the diagnostic codes needed. After all this they subsequently send me a letter saying they can no longer serve my medical needs. I then went and looked at all of the reviews and I see that my experience is rather common with this practice. Next time I will look at the reviews in advance.

There are different physicians at this place. From my own experience I recommend the place highly: reception, lab work and blood drawing, physicians assistants and my own doctor, Dr. Banks. I have been going there for over 2 years now. Waiting time has never been over 20 minutes. Hope this helps others.

I really enjoy my primary doctor but the front desk needs training in customer service . Sat waiting for 1 hour with no one remotely interested to let me know why the delay. But, Dr. and his nurse turned it around

I have been coming to Primary Care Physicians of Atlanta for more than 20 years, as I really like Dr. Adams. However, the front office staff needs some training in customer service, as they always seem to be in a bad mood.

The office staff is horrible. I called to schedule and was hung up on. I called back and they wouldn’t schedule without having my insurance information at that moment. I mentioned I could call back with info tomorrow and she cancelled my appointment. She then just transferred me to the manager. No response of course. I grabbed my insurance card and stopped by the office. “I can’t take appointments at the front desk!” She never once looked at me and didn’t look like she cared one bit! This practice is all about money and not the patient. I highly recommend finding another doctor office with a better staff than what they have at this dump.

Billing is questionable with this office. My husband had a physical exam and none of his lab work was covered. Our insurance covers annual exams and the lab work related to the exam. I understand that labs beyond the basic we may be charged for but it's odd that NONE of his labs were covered. My husband left a message through the portal requesting a coding review. Our plan administrator, Lab Corp and I have left separate voicemails. We keep getting the same response that the nurse is out of the office. I'm wondering if this person actually exist. None of us have yet to receive a response. The doctor was fine but we wouldn't recommend this practice because its been a headache trying to resolve this bill. Even Lab Corp rep agreed that physical exam labs should be covered.

Dr Alexander Herzog is the best doctor I have ever had. He is thoughtful, thorough, kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. I thank him everyday for taking such good care of me and my children. I am blessed to have found such a caring doctor.

The wait time is extremely long. The lobby is always full of people. If you can serve this many people according to your appointment schedule, then why do you ask us to make appointment? Had to wait in the lobby for at least 1 hr to get called. Then wait at least 30 min for the doctor after getting in.Follow up on 3/23/2023:I received a call from the clinic but I missed it. After several days I received an envelope with my lab results and I realized that phone call was to tell me my lab results so I called back to the clinic to ask more details about five times but never picked up. I was always put on waiting. (Answer to the reply, my name in google account is not my complete name in your system. Search “Yufan Lu” and you will find me. Call me back, please!!!)

What was once one of the top medical practices in Atlanta has been taken over and ruined by rude and unprofessional office staff. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Lonnie Herzog and his medical staff but the administrative side of the business does not rate even one star. After 15 years with the same physician, I am forced to move on. At my last appointment, after waiting over 30 minutes I was told that my appointment had been cancelled. With no notice, while I was in the waiting room. The office manager said I had been notified in advance, she lied.Security told me that this has become a common occurrence at this office, three times that particular officer was aware of in the last month. The doctors have not stepped in to fix the issue so while they may be good doctors, they are letting their patients down.

This was the last straw. As I have been going to Dr. Small for years, mainly for my annual physical, I have no complaints about the doctor and find him very helpful and competent. Due to a work change I actually have to go out of my way to visit him.The issue I have with the highly incompetent staff. Over the last year and a half, I had called for an appointment as I had a severe sinus infection on a Thursday afternoon and did not receive a call back until the following Monday afternoon. My last visit, last September, was for my annual physical which is covered 100% by my insurance. A couple of days after the physical I received a call that all was good with the labs, and that was it. A week or so after that I received a bill from the lab for the blood work they had done. I called them up and they stated that it had been coded incorrectly by the doctor's office and they would contact them. I called my insurance to confirm these labs were covered by the insurance which they stated they were, but the claim was denied because the lab work was not coded as being a part of my annual physical. I called the office of PCPoA but the promp that you have to follow goes to a line that nobody ever picks up the phone. One is asked to leave information and they will call back which is of course never done. I tried speaking to the front desk by following the prompts for making a appointment after not getting any response, but they just patched me through to the same person that probably doesn't exist. This time there was even a message in their system that they had a lot of complaint calls due to lab bills, and to leave the invoice number in the voicemail so they could contact me. Of course, the incompetence continued, and I was never contacted. I figured I tried their billing department and talked to a person who stated they cannot do anything with billing for an external party and that coding is done in the doctor's office, but she took my information and sent a request for contact to the doctor's office regarding my issue and stated they had to contact her and me in 2 days, 3 tops. Needless to say, I was never contacted.

No idea why this business is rated so low. It has been 100 hundred percent positive experience for me over the last 20 years. Maybe somebody needs their office space and trying to run them out of business.

I have been a patient of Primary Care Physicians of Atlanta for almost 20 years and a majority of those years I have been with Dr. Maxa. Dr. Maxa and his team are above and beyond amazing. I always feel heard, cared for and that my healthy is always top priority within their office as well as with any referrals to other practices (Dr. Maxa referred me to my amazing OBGYN as well as my dermatologist). Dr. Maxa and Rene, from his nursing staff helped resolve some insurance issues I was having to make sure that I got meds I needed at a cost I could afford. I would also like to note how wonderful the front office/admin staff is; they are always cheerful and helpful. I also think it speaks volumes about the practice that many of the front office staff have been there for many years. Thank you Dr. Maxa, Rene, and everyone at the Primary Care Physicians of Atlanta for always providing the best health care experience.
