I would put zero stars if possible. I had foot surgery scheduled for this morning only to find out that it had been cancelled by the doctors office. However no one bothered to tell me. After reading the other reviews here I realize that I was actually lucky that Dr. Spiegl had not shown up. The hospital said that they had not seen him in over three weeks. The office was very chaotic the last time that I was there and I should have left after having a 10:30 appointment and didn’t see the doctor until after 1:00. BEWARE!!!

UPDATE: 11/29/23 This practice is under investigation for fraudulent Medicare billing, has filed for bankruptcy, has lost all crucial employees aside from Dr. Spiegl, and is being sold to a national surgery center. This office is a DISASTER. I tried to type out all the different ways this office fails, but I’ll just give you the latest: I had surgery on my foot on a Wednesday. The following week for my follow up, I was notified to confirm my appointment via text, email, phone, and portal, which I did. That afternoon, I waited, along with four other patients, for over a half an hour past my appointment time in the hallway outside their darkened, locked office. I left, and left messages via portal and voice mail to reschedule, and for instructions about follow-up care. I have received no communications. I called again today, and their voice-mail system has changed and reroutes back to the main menu or disconnects. I took my stitches out myself on Day 12 post-op, but I still don’t know what my post-surgery protocol is actually supposed to be.I cannot imagine a positive scenario where there would not be staff available to contact patients of the unexpected office closing; staff to man the office on a regular Thursday afternoon; staff to reply to the multiple email and portal messages; staff to notify patients of a permanent office closure via email, phone, or portal; or staff to update the voice mail system with current expectations of service. Something has failed, in a BIG WAY, at Perimeter Orthopedics, and future patients are well advised to look elsewhere for care.PA Jamie Cummings was a bright spot in a very dismal situation. He is capable, thorough, and compassionate. Another practice would be lucky to employ him.

I’m baffled at how this place has such a high rating, I suspect not all of these are real reviews. The staff is extremely unresponsive, they have billed me incorrectly (an extra $500 that I was never made aware of) and have changed my appointment multiple times. Every visit I waited almost TWO hours before the doctor saw me and had a bad experience all around. Do not trust the ratings on Google

What a nightmare... Scheduling surgery was very difficult and they kept changing dates, times and location. Follow up appointments were changed as well. Durable Medical Equipment was not ordered as told and pretty muchbleft to my own accord to obtain the appropriate equipment such as properly fitted crutches, a resting scooter since my ankle was no weight bearing, and then a walking boot. They kept telling me my stitches needed to come out, but then they wandered off. I subsequently went to another Orthopedic practice who fit me in immediately. Be forewarned,

Dr. Nicholson took time to answer all my questions, provided a brace for instant relief, and discussed a range of treatment options for the future.

I had scheduled a knee replacement with Dr Nicholson in March. They said the person to schedule surgery would contact me. It took over a week for her to call. My surgery was scheduled for May 28. I did all testing, CT scan, filed for FMLA at work, set up my short term disability and was ready for my surgery. I got a call on the Monday before my surgery and was told it was postponed to June 9 and moved to a different location. We had many questions and asked for someone to call with answers. The person who called just had "I don't know" answers. The PA called us next day and said all that we were told was wrong and the location was still at Northside but was moved to June 23rd. The Monday before my surgery I got an email saying Dr Nicholson was going to a different practice on August 1. My wife called because we had not heard anything about the surgery and was told it was canceled. No one called us, we had to call them. I had to start everything from the beginning and go to a different Doctor. Very disappointing business practice and unprofessional. I would definitely not recommend.

I had an appointment that was confirmed. They waited until 2 days before to tell me the Dr I scheduled it with is still on leave but I can see the PA. I agreed and confirmed the appointment via their automated phone system when they called me to confirm. I get to the office and they tell me there is no PA there until this afternoon and there is no time-table for when the Dr will resume seeing patients. This was a complete waste of a day off of work and completed to appointment documents.

Dr Nicholson does not go by what his patients tell him but actually goes by his years of experience that he has which is horrible because everyone is not the same. Unfortunately, the way that he spoke to me was rude which made me feel as if he was judging me in doubt. I've not experienced this with a professional doctor of any sort and it's a shame that you have to walk through he door feeling like you are prejudged as negative or a liar. This is no way to conduct business! Thanks Dr Nicholson for a non positive outcome which no one deserves at a doctors office of someone that's supposed to take care of you!

I would definitely recommend it the doctor was so pleasant and nice! Coming from the medical field myself I look for a certain quality in the office and from a provider. I loved how informative he was and I could tell he is really wanting to help me. I did not feel rushed and he answered my questions and concerns. He did not come in like he was GOD like most doctors do because they carry that MD. In front of their names and forget why the started to help patients. I would say the don't desk was not as up to customer service. I mean coming from front desk and back desk in the medical field I know how important it is to make sure those patients feel important. All new patients appointments should feel welcomed. Well, I did not.. here is why... I understand the staff was short for technicians to assist with the providers in the back. (It happened) I don't think someone should have to set over 20mins past the appointment and even be told what's going on. Lack of customer service. I mean come on I know you used to seeing it but it's so unprofessional to not even apologize or say something. It took me to have to ask what's going on in a very calm voice to get a reason why I was still waiting. I would less gossiping and more paying attention to the patients in the lobby, I mean they seemed like nice girls but it's about being professional at the time you need to be. Besides this I definitely look forward to seeing what's the next step I just hope that it's always as pleasant as when the doctor came into the room. Oh by the way I saw Dr. Bharara he was so sweet and concerned! I love it!!!

Dr. Nicholson is very thoughtful, he took the time to answer all my questions as well as gave me videos of upcoming surgery to review, to prepare me for my surgery.

Worst experience I’ve had with a practice in my life. Not only was the surgery a failure but they refused to help when I came back in with my complaints. They offered to do the surgery again but at a discount this time?!? For someone paying out of pocket 10k for a failed surgery is a lot! And now I find out that I had a surprise bill from them that is now in collections for $1400? I payed in full before I even had the surgery. I even used their PT which I paid out of pocket every visit, they were great by the way. But to be asked to pay for another surgery when the first be was botched and then hit with a surprise bill 2 years later is crazy to me.

Dr. Spiegl’s experience and knowledge as a surgeon is incredible. But the best part for me is that he’s not rushed at all to suggest surgery. He will try many options including physical therapy before even mentioning surgery. Very serious but very busy as well.
