Experience was lovely! Poka was my stylist. I received wash, conditioning, trim, and style. The results were wonderful, I'll be back for sure!

I have heard so many horror stories about Atlanta hairstylists so I was very apprehensive to try someone new that specializes in naturally curly hair. Going to Natural Xpression Salon was one of the best decisions I've made in 2023. Poka trimmed, styled and colored my hair in less than 2 hours. I got my hair done specifically for a trip to NY and I got so many compliments on my hair in NY that I had to quickly write this review when I returned. I wish I could rate him 10 stars. Thanks Poka!

The service wasn’t TERRIBLE but it wasn’t great. This is the first time I’ve had my hair washed and blow dried by somebody else besides myself in six years but I wanted a possible break and was busy today so I decided maybe it’s time to explore. I tried calling on the phone to see if they did walk ins and what wash and blow dry goes for and nobody answered. So I show up and he took me in between another client. The wash was decent but I noticed instead of detangling my hair he was ripping it slightly. To me it wasn’t so bad at first cause I have 4c hair so I understand it can be difficult at times. Then the BLOW DRY came and it was bad. My hair was literally being ripped through with a brush without proper detangling at all.. and now that I’m twisting my hair I’m noticing a lot of breakage and plenty of possible damage. It even hurt mostly and I’m not tender headed at all. After all that a wash and blow that wasn’t the best and was rushed through was $98 . Disappointed but it inspired me to keep doing my own hair for sureService: Blowdry

This duo can't be beat! They've worked together for years and this may be their 3rd location. Now they've settled in Sandy Springs right off Hammond Road. They're in an mixed use building and ship that was previously Urban Bella. Taz and Poka know curly hair. I remember Taz way back before he branched off and was at Curltopia. He's worked on my tresses but Poka is my stylist. Cut, color, styling - they do it all & at the highest quality. The shop is still in renovation phases - not a lot of bells & whistles (I.e coffee machine, TVs, massage chair) but they play great music, it's spacious and they don't play around (on phone, snacking, chilling, etc.). Definitely great conversationalist but they value getting you in and out in a timely manner. Highly recommend and I'll keep coming no matter where they go in Atlanta.

Disappointed. First time visit for wash & go. Discussed cutting my hair, with extensive conversation about not wanting the moles on my scalp to show. Or to be cut/shaved too close. He didn't listen. I came out with a Mohawk, sides shaved unevenly, moles showing on one side with basically no hair at all, and a little hair on the other side. Tas, Listen to your clients.

The best natural hair salon in Atlanta. They will make you love your curls even if you think your hair cannot be curly. I have 4c hair and they work magic to make my hair bouncy and beautiful. They are also great at trimming and cutting and giving your hair life. The salon is always clean, and appointments rarely overlap. I'm usually the only client in the salon. Both Tas and Poka are natural hair experts. Highly recommend!

December 12, 2020, I called Natural Xpression Salon and Poka answered the phone. I talked with him for a good 5mins sharing with him that I had read all of the good reviews about the salon and his name popped up in one of the reviews. Explaining to him what I was wanting to get for services he said was a trim. While I had him on the phone I asked if I could set an appointment with him now; he told me "no I will have to log onto the salon website click on his name under scheduling and set an appointment that way." I said the system will have all of your openings that you will be available for and up to date, and he said "YES..." Doing as I was told by going to the salon website to scheduling clicked on Poka name choose the type of services that I was wanting to get then the date he was available popped up so I picked the date that the system state that his next available date was open, which was the next day December 13, 2020, at 9:00 am. When I originally went on the website on 12/12/2020 to set the appointment I did not hear from Poka until 5hrs later to tell me that the appointment I set was not available..... OK now I am getting a little agitated because I was on the phone with him to make a proper schedule, but doing as I was told got me nowhere but a text message from Poka stating that he will not be able to serve me for what the system had originally set me for... I attached the text message of how the conversation went so I can be clear. I set the appointment for early morning to make sure I will not have to call around to find someone else who will be able to do my hair but that plan failed as well because by the time I heard back from Poka it was too late to find someone else to do my hair for that day. I understand that now with what is going on in the world everyone is getting hit in many different ways. I am not downing the salon just the way the situation was handled. Actions speak volume and he could have been busy I will never know, but it could have taken no more than 2sec to take a peak or just give me a call back once he got the chance to say I do apologize or can I work with you on some other day or I can work you in after I told you to go on the website to set an appointment and it gave you an incorrect day that was not available for me.... Just a little common courtesy would have helped a lot

I had a great experience at this salon. It was my first visit and Tas did a wonderful job on my cut, color and style. I really enjoyed the personalized service with the hair care prescription he provided at the end of my visit. This will allow me to use the right products for my hair texture to maintain at home until my next visit. Highly recommend.

I recently had a Thermal Silkening, and my natural hair was treated to everything it needed for the cold weather. This is my favorite natural hair Salon.
