I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the LA Fitness in Atlantic Station today. From the moment I walked in, I encountered nothing but poor customer service, starting with a new female staff member at the front desk. She had a terrible attitude, was completely dismissive, and made no effort to engage with me or any other members. It was clear she had no interest in helping anyone, as she spent most of her time glued to her phone. This level of unprofessionalism is simply unacceptable.
But the worst part of my visit came later in the evening. Around 10 PM, which is supposed to be closing time, a staff member came in and kicked everyone out of the basketball gym to conduct a private after-hours basketball training session. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The gym was literally shut down so that this staff member could have their own private session. I’m not sure if this is common practice at this location, but it’s incredibly distasteful and unprofessional. Paying members should never be treated like this.
From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, this visit was a disaster. I usually don’t attend this gym, I typically go to the Brookhaven location, where I’ve never encountered anything like this. The woman at the front desk needs serious training on how to engage with members, and something absolutely needs to be done about the misuse of the facilities by the staff. This experience was nothing short of ghetto and disrespectful.

I am writing this review to express my deep frustration and concern regarding the ongoing harassment I’ve experienced at the LA Fitness in Atlantic Station. Since the day I filed a complaint about a female employee’s unprofessional behavior, I have been subjected to constant harassment by the same staff member. I have no idea what her issue is, but this situation has escalated to an unacceptable level.
On 8/12/24 when I arrived at the gym, I was shocked to see that the same employee had a dog running around the gym while she sat with her legs crossed on the table, completely glued to her phone. This lack of professionalism is outrageous and beyond anything I’ve ever seen in a gym setting.
To make matters worse, 2 days later on 8/14/24 I walked in the gym simply checked in and there were nobody sitting at the front desk. I walked to the basketball court as I normally do only to be approached by the same said female staff member moments later, I have no idea where she came from as she was not sitting at the front desk when I checked it, however she walked up to me in aggressive manner and told me I need to leave the gym and told me that I could not work out at this location as long as she is working. I’m not sure what kind of policy this is or if it even is a policy, but it’s clear that I’m being retaliated against simply because I voiced concerns about her dismissive behavior.
I have been a loyal LA Fitness member since 2011 and have never encountered any issues until this point. This situation is deeply troubling, and I feel completely mistreated and disrespected. Allowing an employee to retaliate against a paying member is unacceptable. I strongly urge LA Fitness to address this matter as soon as possible. Members deserve to be treated with respect, not harassed for raising valid concerns.

Staff is good, place is clean & cool, machines ans the other material was in good condition, I cannot complain at all, it has what I need, plus its open from 5 to 20hs that's awesome.

I use to really like this gym because of the fitness classes but they made a lot of changes and now their classes are boring and cookie cutter. No longer worth the money for me.

I have been going to this gym consistently for 6months since I’ve moved to the area and I must say it is the most deplorable LA fitness I’ve ever been into. I recently switched from the Lenox 3535 and 3232 Peachtree Rd locations to the LA fitness at Atlantic Station. It is an extremely small gym. It feels like there is not enough lift equipment and all of the equipment is cramped together. The sauna is frequently broken (not heating up properly) because women put essentials oils on the hot sauna rocks. Also, women hang their wet clothing over the sauna area. The pool is broken and drained completely. The restroom/ locker room area is run down. Handles are broken off of multiple lockers, paint is chipped off of the walls, there is no full length body mirror, the purified water fountain was broken, and rust/ grime is building up in the sinks. It is flat out filthy. The young lady who cleans the building does the best she can. However, this entire gym needs a complete makeover. LA fitness makes too much money from paying customers to have a gym facility this rundown. There should not be that big of a difference between la fitness locations within 15 minutes of each other. It’s sad to say but Planet Fitness has cleaner and more up to date facilities than the Atlantic Station LA Fitness.

I like everything about the LA Fitness Center except that none of the three centers near the middle town has a jacuzzi or a pool. I promise to update my rating to five stars if they add a jacuzzi and a pool to any of the three LA Fitness Centers near the middle town.

Nice gym, very convenient when I am in the area. I’m here to just say thank you to Ms Parker and Maliek for the great customer service that’s provided every time I walk through the door.
And to the cleaning crew, you guys are awesome.

Like most LA fitness gym I appreciate the equipment they have available. really laid-back staff. I do miss the Jacuzzi and pool and I’m not sure when it will ever if ever be back available. Not to be funny, but, the men’s sauna smells like a dirty foot. It needs to be bleached and disinfected, probably weekly because of the amount of sweat and funk coming off of its patrons.

The club cleaning staff is the best!!! The lead janitor keeps this place as clean as possible with the traffic the constantly comes through. The women sauna has been so clean lately and it smells amazing!!!!
