***Edited to 1 star after getting yelled at and treated like an idiot by the owner. We sought J & N out to service the trucks in our fleet after getting worn out dealing with big fleet truck shops. Our main concern was getting misquoted for work, they were constantly saying it would be one price and we end up paying double after everything added in.
First experience at J & N was decent, Jimmy is a nice guy and the service was quick, expensive but available when we needed it. Hence the 2 stars
Second experience, not so much. Took a truck over for a “PM”, basically an oil and oil/fuel filter change. Quoted us about $400. We pick the truck up and get the bill for 3 times the quote $1233! They added multiple items we didn’t ask for. Air filter - $420.76, exact same filter available retail from Napa store $250 and online $175. DEF Fluid 5 gallon - charged $60, we have a tank on site and get it at under $5 a gallon. These are not normal PM(preventative maintenance) items and he did not have our approval to do this extra work. It’s the equivalent of a mechanic filling your car up with gas without asking and then charging you double what the price of gas is!
I asked Jimmy about this, small business owner to small business owner and he talked all around it as if he was doing us a favor by doing all of the extra stuff without asking. I told him I didn’t want those add ons and showed him the retail price on the filter he put in. He didn’t provide a solution, just talking around in circles about how he wouldn’t surprise us next time…what about the crazy price you just charged us for these things we didn’t ask for? “Sorry man, it won’t happen again.”
Sure won’t, and I wouldn’t recommend them. I can get this kind of service at the big shops with certified mechanics.
**Continued. Jimmy called us after getting this review. We provided him with the same feedback. He started to try to provide a solution, but in the end it was more important for him to lecture me on how the mechanic business works.
He ultimately got to the point he was yelling at me about how he is charging what the manufacturer suggests and that we don’t know what is “normal” for the service we asked him to do. Should such an expert quote $400 and then charge $1233?
Come here and you can get bent over & called an idiot at the same time.

I can’t thank Jimmy enough for the work he did on my 1993 high top dodge B250 van. He took great care in finding and diagnosing the problem when others could not. I am extremely grateful for his knowledge, love and respect in his work. I will definitely be recommending him to others and going back with any further needs.

Jimmy has always been the best mechanic in Atlanta. I've got an old 2001 Ford Taurus that I have been able to keep in tip top shape thanks to Jimmy. My car has 211,000 miles on it, it's now 22 years old and Jimmy has always been my lead mechanic. If you truly love your car, take it to Jimmy, he's the only real mechanic in Atlanta, nobody is even close to being 2nd. This isn't my only stellar review of my man Jimmy Neese. Thanks again Jimmy for all your hard work on my car over the many many years you have worked on it, I am forever grateful.

Jasper 350 Motor was installed by Jimmy. No pride was taken on this job, starting with MOTOR gaskets, list goes on. This was taking up to 5 months for Jimmy to stop all the leaks, and fixing this again & again

Anyone with a budget looking for quality repairs should stay clear of J&N.I had to get 2 Camshaft sensors and 1 Crankshaft sensor replaced by another auto repairer just over a year of being installed by J+N - so ''perfect'' out of warranty timing! The sensors J+N installed certainly don't appear to be OEM parts but nonetheless; I ended up throwing hundreds of dollars down the drain at J+N.Moreover; Jimmy had no sympathy even though I'd previously spent bucket loads at his business.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I purchased a used Toyota Land Cruiser that had just had $5500 (see receipt) worth of work done from J&N. Jimmy was very helpful and telling me about the truck and I was confident making the purchase based off of his recommendations and his apparent expertise. Was very disappointed to have a significant engine noise develop in the first 500 miles of ownership-unfortunately I live 200 miles from Atlanta and it wasn't practical to take it back to J&N.
I had my mechanic open the engine up and he found that the cam installation and timing chain installation were both incorrect. (See photos) The shims were not the right size causing them to rotate and wear the cam and the timing chain was loose and slapping. Both resulted in metal shavings in the oil.
I had my mechanic redo the work and while He was in there I had him go ahead and redo the head to ensure everything was correct.
I asked Jimmy to share the cost of re-doing his repair. His response was since I had the head redone all the work I asked him to do was part of it anyway. But I only did it because it was obvious his work was flawed and I needed to go through everything.
My total cost was $2800 (see receipt, also had the AC repaired) and I asked him to help with what my mechanic and I assessed his share was at $1346 (other attached receipt was pro-rated cost).
Although Jimmy gave me the impression he considered it, he elected not to help me pay to correct the errors from his shop. I was without the car for weeks while we sorted through this.

Very Long story short. J & N Auto Services is Jasper Transmission certified. Jasper Transmission gives the best Warranty in the business. 3 years. Jimmy took a look at my wife's 2006 Murano and told us that we needed to take it to Nissan, not because he couldn't fix it. But because Jasper Transmission doesn't make a 2006 Nissan Murano CVT Transmission. And Nissan would be the only one who could provide a warranty. #integrity.
