1 cashier working while everyone else is scattered through the store. I stood in line probably 30 minutes with only 3 people in front of me that just had a million things. This is insane

A place to shop IF want to be treated like a disposable OBJECT. Given that's how they treat people it's seems subsequently obvious that they apparently treat their products even poorer.
I asked the cashier if the team could look into a discount because the liner of a product was damaged. The cashier immediately capped discount at 10%, which again is inconsistent with other nationwide discounts when a product is damaged. I'm optimistic that's potentially the discount "cap" for "minor" damage she verbalized to me.
I guess it's cool(?) that the female manager's observation skills are limited.
It looks like she choose to use the least amount of time and the most indignant approach to address the cashier's call to our counter while there wasn't a line or crowd.
The manager observed the product from the top and said it "closes".
The damaged liner elevates the SIDE of the lid, so that's where the products decreased quality is visible.
But sure go ahead & treat me like I'm not a human, and state "I wouldn't give it [a discount] to her," like I don't exist.
As if she doesn't have the humanity or the skills to speak to existing customers.
Yes the damage was slight; the product IS OBJECTIVELY still damaged & irratating (subjective) visually. However they unload or unpack their inventory in that section always seems to damage their trash bins.
Okay, [it appears possibly] you're too busy to evaluate the product's quality; what's the excuse for not speaking to me or like I was presently standing there?
I've held the TJX card for a DECADE
& made a purchase over $100 today
And
$155+ two days ago
Where 1 Male Manager and another male store associate were absolutely HUMAN & friendly on that occasion.
Given I shopped this location hundreds of times since it opened when I was in college, this absurdity is the last straw of appreciation for this HOMEGOODS store.
I've lived in dozens of states and this store's DISORDER & indignant treatment is unmatched.
Definitely drive out for shopping elsewhere.
I've also had decent experiences over the years with at least average -- & a few kind -- store associates. Perhaps, Surviving living in Atlanta must be too tough for their local employees to have any humanity bandwidth anymore (except the associates before mentioned, whilst the male person didn't speak up today).
Very unfortunate experience that was highly preventable.

This used to be one of my favorite places to shop. Recently, I attempted to make a return and purchase. The items I was returning had the original tags and I had my receipt. First the cashier called the manager over to "verify" if the items were indeed HG products without even checking my receipt first. Then the manager tells me that they do not take returns after 30 days( clearly against the policy) . When I asked her to show me in the policy where this was the case, she responded "she doesn't have to show me anything"! The situation became an embarrassing ordeal in the store as I tried to get her to abide by the store policy and let me make the return. I was lied to and treated like a criminal. There are some really disturbing practices occurring at this store.. Do not shop there .

came here to buy christmas decor and will never be returning. The cashier refused to wrap my glass items even after I asked her several times if she could wrap them so they don’t break or crack. The manager saw this whole thing happen and he responded with rude remarks towards us instead of helping out.
