Do not come here unless you want a different price for the same style each time. I was coming here every 6-8 weeks for over 5 months getting knotless braids. The last time I tried to get my hair braided, they tried to charge me an additional $100. I explained to them I only paid between $220-$250 for the same braids I was trying to get. She basically insinuated that I was lying, and that was that. So I walked out and will NEVER return! Side note: Just know they are talking about you while you're in there.

I came here to get tribal braids 3 layer waist length: the cost was $220. Esther braided my hair and she did a really good job. The braids weren't so tight that they hurt which usually happens when I get my hair braided. The style took about 6 hours. I got to the shop at 7:30am and was seated at 8:30am. I would recommend getting there as soon as they open because they get really busy and there is a line before the doors open. The only complaint that I have is that the braids are not all the same length they are layered. Next time I will ask her to make them all the same length: other than that I am completely satisfied. Thank you Esther!

I will not be returning to this shop. The style i asked for layer braids, i was initially told by the stylist $150. I had three different colors and wanted an ombré and she said $15 dollars more, ok. Less than halfway into my styling, a rude a** lady walks up with a appointment book, pushes it towards me and says "name, style, price" I was preparing to write 165 and she said 190. 190! I was like no, this lady said $150 for style and $15 for ombré, $165. Then the lady who is doing my hair, i think her name is Esther said, no i told you $180....no the hell you didn't! Bottom line they change their pricing as they see fit and I'm not down with that! I will pay you what you want but don't change prices literally while I'm sitting there and act as if you didn't tell me another price when in front of who i assume was the owner! And...my hair is not well executed! Got my hair done on 10/22 and my hair is starting to frizz really bad due to poor execution! Ladies do yourself a favor and research some local braiders. This shop is just not it, period!

Got some tribal braids from them. The braids in the back were shorter than the ones in the front and when I complained to the lady, she said that that was the the $150 length. Uneven braids are the $150 length ?

I love this shop so much! They're affordable and they work with you. It seems as though, everyone can braid but you have certain ppl who are just better at particular styles. Since my hair is super thick I always go for box or triangle braids to avoid long hours of pain, (I'm tender headed so everything hurts). I always call on Victoria who is a sweetheart. As far as cleanliness.. it's OK.. but what African braid shop isn't? I will say the bathroom is small but they bleach that thang DOWN! Anyway, I always recommend you to tell them to not do your edges tight before hand. They will braid your hair to your desired length and width and you will them need to pay within 30 minutes of the service starting. Sometimes they will let you know when to pay. I know it seems a bit mellow dramatic, but you may want to pop a few pain pills before you sit in the chair.

I paid $150 for triangle parts box braid, even tho I think it's slightly overpriced (compared to nyc prices) , I must commend and give them a great review. It's a no frills shop, typical African shop with more than enough women to do your hair, everyone was doin a good job and let me tell u, my box braids usually takes 5-8 hours and I was in and out this shop in 2hrs. Everywhere I go I'm complimented and lastly...THEY RESPECTED MY REQUEST TO NO PULL MY EDGES!

I just called Binta to tell them that my hair is unraveling at the ends and the back is way too short. My hair, as explained when I had it done has to be worn in a bun do to my profession. This Wednesday will make two weeks and I'm being told that they have a three day come back policy. The front looks awesome but the back looks ridiculous. They can ask you to pay before they finish but they can't guarantee their services to you. The women working there are extremely loud and unprofessional and yelling in your ear as they half do your hair while jestering with their hands and stopping. Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere. You will have peace while you are serviced and hopefully a style that will last longer than almost a week and a half.

I've been coming here since I moved to the area and never had issues until this most recent visit. I paid$300 for waist length small box braids. The older lady that braided my hair initially seemed to not even want to attempt to braid my hair after I told her the length. Anyways Before leaving I checked out their work but wasn't given a mirror to see the back so I went home. Forgetting to check when I got home I missed the"they won't fix any work after two days" but on the third day I took a look at the back of my head my parts are so sloppy and big it's ridiculous. It's as though she got to the middle of the head and gave up. I'm appalled at how you charge me 300 I tipped handsomely on top of that and the middle of my head looks like whatever. I won't be back you don't get but one time to pull a stunt like this. Then making it seem as though my hair grew out in 3 days. Yeah I'll go back to driving further for quality.
