About the restaurant & décor: Located in the Inman Quarter development, Bread & Butterfly, from chef-owners Billy and Kristin Allin, evokes the atmosphere of a brasserie, with copper pressed tin ceilings, lots of windows and natural light, and outdoor seating.Food & Drinks: You can start as early as 8 a.m. most weekdays with a proper omelet or go American with pancakes. Try the buttered brioche toast, served with an imported French jam. Soft scrambled eggs surmounted with smoked trout, cream and capers on the same brioche toast is a full-day's nourishment and spirit lifting, as is the Counter Culture coffee. Folks who enjoy Spanish-style coffee may order a cortado. For lunch, savor a Provençal tartine or a potato and raclette gratin. Yes, there's a burger "Americain." At dinner, duck and flounder embellish the lineup. Roast chicken from Joyce Farms in North Carolina is on the menu, and you'll find several nice Cru Beaujolais wines to go with it on the almost all-French wine list, which is full of Champagne and other French sparklers. For dessert you may find canelés, but the selections, made at the company's Proof Bakeshop nearby, vary daily.
