Adopted two kittens with a "clean" bill of health. They both tested positive for ringworm and parasites. Would have gone untreated had I not adopted. No resources or help offered to alleviate costs. It's wise to assume many of the animals here are also infected

The Atlanta Humane Society is a great place to foster or adopt a pet dog or cat. Its great for the community to save an animal from euthanization. I searched the website and found my Miniture Poodle. His name was Ace but I changed it to NIKE. ? I forgot poodles could stand on their hind 2 legs. Hes like a circus dog. ? I really live him already. Poodles have a background of being mean and like to bite. Dont let the cute face fool ya, ?Nike is a bit mean but also a sweetie. Lol! The only thing that I dont like is that you can't reach the front desk directly, which is a huge concern. When you call, you reach a "RESPONSE CENTER". ??♀️ I guess. Anyway It was a great experience. Thanks Atlanta Humane Society.

They wanted to charge me $150 for a kitten. I came to Fulton county Lifeline project and bought the same colored kitten ( even younger) for $65. Not only was the front desk receptionist rude they didn’t deserve my dollar. Please visit Fulton County Lifeline project. They are extremely nice and aren’t charging ridiculous prices for pets

Beautiful building, friendly staff, and of course, loving pets looking for a home. They host a number of fun events, including Puppy Yoga.

I adopted my sweet baby Rigby at a free cat adoption Friday in May 2022. He has been the greatest addition to my family and we cannot imagine our life without him!

Disappointed in how they are currently doing the adoption. I recently loss my boy dog and was looking for my girl a companion. I came across Jolly and immediately fell in love. I made contact with AHS and was told that she had been in their care since April. That's 5 months. So I filled out the paperwork only for them to reply back and tell me she had all these applicants and couldn't process my application at the time. 2 days later I received a text saying that she was available asking if I was still interested. I replied and before I knew it I had an appointment for a meet and greet. I was excited but my girl was hesitant. Understandable she just lost her partner in crime of 8 years. But she wasn't aggressive, just not really interested. Foster parent suggested a 2nd visit but in 2 weeks as they had plans for fall break. Unfortunately, it seems like AHS is in more of a rush to get the pets out instead of making sure they go to the right home. Even thought I mention to them the situation, they already set up for the dog to meet with another family. Like, seriously! I hope for the dogs sake that she finds the right home because AHS is just trying to put the dogs off on anyone but them. SMH

We (wife and kids)went there on Friday August 2nd during the $0 adoption event inititially looking for a puppy named hamburglar but he was gone already so we totally fell in love with a puppy named Cherry which was waiting to have surgery, the young lady explained she would have surgery that day or early Saturday, the kids was so so excited about getting a new puppy . The surgery didn't happen Saturday or Sunday and we was told that the $0 adoption would still apply being we did the application on Friday. So she was posted on the website by Tuesday being they are closed on Monday so we called and was told that it would be 350.00 and the 1st puppy hamburglar was also back on the website. The kids was very sad not to have a new puppy. On a lighter note the facility was very clean and the staff was very nice.

We went to the Atlanta Humane Society 2 weeks ago and we adopted a beautiful young male cat and his name now is Jynx. When we picked him up his name was Jason Voorhees. Absolutely adorable!. He had all his shots including rabies. He was dewormed, no fleas and he was fixed. We love him so much and he's been a wonderful addition to our family with two other cats, Feng and Lermont. They were very helpful and the kindest people we really appreciated them. We also got a free first visit at the VCA by us which is amazing and all the paperwork we needed for the chip. Also two tags, one for the chip and one for the rabies vaccine. So we are all set to go. We just had to keep little Jynx separate from his brother's for 9 days until he healed from his surgery.
Thank you so much to The Atlanta Humane Society!!!!
