“ANIMAL HOUSE BUCKHEAD,” SENT MY DOG HOME WITH A HOLE IN HER HEAD, AN OPEN WOUND, DIDN’T TELL ME AND LIED
**MY REVIEW WAS REMOVED?!?”
I brought my dog to Animal House Buckhead on E Paces Ferry Rd on May 24, it was her first time there. Groomers love her, she’s great for them.
My dog has zero aggression, she is calm, sweet and well behaved. I was told she was excellent during the grooming.
I was driving home with my dog and I put my hand on her head to pet her and my hand was all wet, it was bloody and she was oozing. I immediately headed to my vet’s office that is about two minutes from the groomer (but I was farther away, I was nearly home). I could’ve brought her to the vet much sooner had I known.
I called the groomer and asked what happened. The man who groomed my dog wouldn’t get on the phone. His brother said he told me about the wound which is 100% false. I would’ve gone directly to the vet had I known.
My hubby was traveling and when he found out about this he was furious. He called the groomer and they readily admitted that I wasn’t told and said they should’ve told me.
The groomer offered to cover our expenses, the initial vet bill was over $800.
We still don’t have an understanding of what actually happened, why I wasn’t notified stat and why they continued grooming a dog with an open wound.
To think we wouldn’t notice and hinder us getting our dog medical care asap is nothing short of negligent and disgusting. They kept her for 3+ hours for what should’ve taken no more than 90 minutes and sent a dog home with a bleeding/oozing open wound without saying a SINGLE WORD about it.
As an aside, my dog is never matted, she’s very well cared for and maintained and they said her coat was beautifully kept. They told me when I initially called to inquire about their grooming services that each of their groomers have 10+ years experience.
Here are pics of my sweet girl, she’s almost 12, a rescue mix/mutt I’ve had since she was a very small pup. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, this is incredibly upsetting.
In the latter 2 pics the vet is separating her hair to see the wound after it was cleaned. She had a hole through skin layers on her head, they admit they knew, and they DIDN’T SAY A WORD. They chose to try and hide it.

Justin and the groomers are the best! I have a small dog who is a bit high strung and she mixes well with all dogs, large and small. My dog is always obedient and ready to go at Justin’s command. I’m so happy we found Animal House!

We LOVE this place. Maggie is amazing. We would follow her anywhere and hopefully won’t have to because everyone at this shop
Is so friendly and so sweet to our baby AND they do not use crates nor kennels and the cuts are great! 5 out of 5. Every time.

Great with my dog. Pretty easy to get scheduled. My pup loves the blueberry facial! The only thing I dislike is the parking lot. But as far as how they treat my pup, it's 100%!

I called this place on a whim a couple of weeks back, because we just moved here over a few months and it was time. They had just had a cancellation and told me to come on in. I typically get him groomed every month or so and in between I just bathe him. I miss his old groomers back in SC, but Jason was amazing accommodating my needs. Not sure if he is the groomer, but whoever is did a pretty good job. I wish I had met the groomer, would be my only complaint.

I brought my dog to *************** dba Animal House Buckhead (AHB) on May 24, 2023. It was her first time there.MY DOG WAS SENT HOME WITH A PUNCTURE/HOLE IN HER HEAD!!My dog is a calm, sweet, well behaved senior. I was told she was exc. during grooming, which is typical. They complimented her beautiful coat w/ no mats.Upon pickup ****** told me he didnt clip her short as I asked. She was an express ************ kept her for 3+ hours! I was nearly home when I pet my ******** hand was soaked, her hair saturated in BLOOD & OOZING from her head. I rushed to the vet (who is 2 min. from AHB, I couldve been there sooner had I known). On the way I called AHB. ****** relayed through his brother, *****, that he told me about the wound, which is 100% FALSE. I wouldve gone directly to the vet. Did they think I wouldnt notice my dog bleeding/oozing from her head?My hubby was traveling, when he found out he called AHB & said 6 words, Im trying to control my fury, at which time they admitted I wasnt told what happened.AHB made choices to deny my dog immediate and proper wound care FOR HOURS.We still dont know what actually happened, why I wasnt notified stat (or at all) & why they continued grooming a dog with an open wound which was a Petri dish for bacteria. *** later said they nicked a cyst my dog had, which I made them aware of, but her cyst is fine, completely intact, the wound is 1-2 away.To think we wouldnt notice is asinine. To not bring it to our attention is unconscionable. I cant fathom how anyone could send a dog home w/ a bleeding/oozing open wound w/o saying a SINGLE WORD. They didnt tell me when it happened, not when they called to say she was done, not when I picked her up. NOT A SINGLE WORD ABOUT IT WAS SAID.**Daycare dogs are mixed w/ dogs being groomed, getting up on tables. Its chaotic. IT IS THOUGHT MY DOG HAS A BITE WOUND.** Unless youre okay with this treatment for your dog(s), I wouldnt recommend going to AHB.

!!!! ANIMAL HOUSE BUCKHEAD WAS MORE LIKE "ANIMAL HELL" FOR US !!!! THEY SENT MY DOG HOME WITH A BLEEDING, OOZING HOLE IN HER HEAD, WERE DISHONEST AND TRIED TO COVER IT UP !!!! **If you're considering this facility I'd encourage you to read this. I believe it illustrates a tremendous lack of good judgement, integrity and compassion.** GIVING THEM ONE STAR IS ONE STAR TOO MANY, BUT NO STARS ISN'T AN OPTION. I brought my dog to Animal House Buckhead to be groomed on May 24, 2023. It was her first time there. My dog has no aggression, she is a calm, sweet and well behaved/trained senior rescue dog who I've had since she was a puppy. I was told she was excellent during the grooming, which is typical. They also complimented her on having a beautiful coat with no mats. Upon pickup Justin told me they didn't clip her as short as I asked and said they would next time. She also was an express groom and they kept her for over 3+ hours. She usually takes 60-90 minutes. The dots will start to connect shortly. After my dog's grooming was complete and we were nearly home I put my hand on her head to pet her and my hand was all wet, her hair was saturated in blood and she was oozing from her head. I immediately turned around and rushed to my vet's office. My vet is two minutes from the groomer's, I could've likely been to the vet 30 minutes sooner had I been told my dog had an open wound. On the way to the vet I called the groomer and asked what happened. Justin wouldn't get on the phone but relayed through his brother, Jason, that he told me about the wound, which is 100% FALSE. I would've gone directly to the vet had I known. Did they think I wouldn't notice my dog bleeding/oozing from her head?? My hubby was traveling and when he found out about this he was furious. He called the groomer and said six words, "I'm trying to control my fury," at which time they readily admitted that I wasn't told what happened, that they should've told me and that they'd cover vet bills. The vet bill was $800+ and I already paid it. The groomers paid the vet directly who then reimbursed us. The groomers hurriedly tried to do the right thing but ONLY after they lied, gave zero disclosure about what happened and made choices to deny my dog immediate and proper wound care FOR HOURS. They didn't prioritize my dog's health the same way they scurried to preserve the health of their jobs/business. At least that's my observation. We still don't have an understanding of what actually happened, why I wasn't notified of what happened stat (or at all, for that matter) and why they continued grooming a dog with an open wound which was a Petri dish for bacteria. They later said they nicked a cyst she had, which I made them aware of, but her cyst is fine, completely intact. This wound has nothing to do with her cyst and is approximately 2" from the cyst. To think we wouldn't notice the wound is asinine. To not bring it to our attention so we could immediately get our dog treatment is unconscionable. I can't even fathom how anyone could send a dog home with a bleeding/oozing open wound without saying a SINGLE WORD about it. They didn't tell me when it happened. They didn't tell me when they called and said she was ready to be picked up. They didn't tell me when I picked her up. NOT A SINGLE WORD ABOUT IT WAS SAID. **Daycare dogs are mixed in the room with dogs being groomed, getting up on tables. It's chaotic. It was suggested this could be a bite wound. Nearly two weeks have passed, I have yet to hear from the owner,, "Ms. Kim." I'm sharing this because, in the same way that we expect our healthcare providers to do no harm to us and for us to be better when we leave than when we got there, we should have the same expectations of our pet practitioners. We all make mistakes but how we respond to the mistakes is an indication of our integrity and priorities. They made a mistake by injuring my dog an

Was ok. I just moved from Massachusetts and was looking for a groomer. I have to say I am shocked with Atlanta prices. Never paid more than $60 there and it’s crazy out here.Anyways this place just gives you a range of price, and then add on for stuff at random. Went from $60 to $80 just because he had matting. My dog is a silky terrier whose hair I brush regularly and it’s “silky”, never ever matted. Then they said that the groomer used some special scissors…. I was like why?? Then it was that he was difficult? It can be challenging to cut dogs nails, but isn’t that your job, training? You’re supposed to keep them calm.Just my honest thoughts and experience, that I thought I should share.
