My late wife and I have been long time donors, and my late wife was a recipient of help from AKS. I am forever grateful to this organization, and the assistance they give to dialysis patients. I encourage anyone who donates to consider donating to AKS.

I have never had such a hard time trying to donate. I have about 7 big boxes, 2 suitcases, a big bag & container to donate to AKS. I was determined to donate to AKS because I support the mission.. I have someone very close to me that needs a kidney transplant.On the website it shows that you can drop off at their main location during specific weekend hours so I called just to make sure I wouldn't be making the trip for no reason and they only have a "866" number (the local # re-routes to the 866 # too)... the phones are not open on weekends so I didn't make the trip when I had access to a bigger vehicle. I was trying to do drop off because I live 3 flights up and didn't want to have to put someone through all of that labor. I called during the week.. the young lady who answered, ultimately knew nothing so I had to be transferred to her manager who told me that no one is at the site on weekends to receive drop offs, so I told her I would try to fit the stuff in my car to make 2 trips during my lunch.. I couldn't fit the big boxes in my Mustang.. I didn't have access to a bigger vehicle, so I called the supervisor back to tell her my situation.I tried everything in my power to make things easier for the people involved. The supervisor ended up scheduling a pick- up (I only had the option of 4/15/2022 which was a week and some change out AND I had to make sure I was home ALL DAY from 7AM onward ANDDDD I offered to assist whomever was coming to pick up, as it would only be ONE PERSON).Today is 4/15/2022.. I had a feeling that I should call to make sure that someone was coming. I just called to speak to that same supervisor and she's out for the day, but I have NO APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED.. I wasted all that time trying to get this coordinated and I don't have any appointment scheduled? And they lady who answered the phone this time could not help me any capacity; only suggesting that I call back Monday to talk to that supervisor -_- . WHAT?! There's no way to just have someone come pick it up today? I know they're in this area today because that's the reason I could only pick Friday.The fact that I went out of my way multiple time to try to give to this organization to no avail.. disappointing.The frustration at this point.. the lividity

Our family has donated to this organization for years w/o incident. Tonight, Called my 70 yr old mother 8 times between 6PM-9pm. At the 8th call, I answered and asked the guy to remove this phone number from their list. He says, "Mr. Smith, you have a pick up scheduled, so you lied, ok". This is not the Smith resident; there was no pick up scheduled;and what a pitiful shame this guy is who you have calling people for donations.

I truly hope I have the correct contact info for my donation. MUST SHARE... Never have I had such the pleasure of speaking with such a kind woman, I complimented her on her skills! Never, would I have imagined she would actually call me back minutes late to “Thank Me” - We had a lovely conversation that I will remember always! TOO BAD, I did’t Record for Social Media...Miss Rose, you are an ANGEL!

Very easy to schedule a pickup, and very helpful with reminder calls to make sure you remember to set things out. They could do a little better with instructions about *how* to bundle and package things, but it's still not difficult. A little concerned also about driver's handling of breakable items, so apart from clothing be sure to box and pad securely.
