Not an appropriate company for an unsophisticated investor seeking full-service support. This company allowed me to get in hot water with the IRS because they did not ensure I had the proper paperwork filed. I've never had this issue with Raymond James, Morgan Stanley, or even Vanguard. This company advertises to the unsophisticated, average person investor, but they will not support you. You really need to have full knowledge of all your investments as well as all of the bureaucratic requirements because this company just holds your investment. They don't offer you support. This will act superrrrrr supportive when they are courting your business, but after your accounts get transfered over I think they holler "gotcha" and light a cigar.

I would prefer to have zero stars. I have been attempting to close and transfer my funds since March. All I get are excuses. Now I am dealing with what appears to be a recent college grad from a liberal arts college at best. Kid has no understanding of how to deal with adult situations or a customer. instead of handling the problem he wants to argue with me. I am communcating with my attorney as they still have refused to wire my funds. Oh, but they can charge me a "sale" transaction fee this week.

My experience with Advanta has been nothing but wonderful. The customer service is impeccable and the attention to detail and white-glove service is top notch. Specifically, working with Corey has been seamless. He is responsive, kind, and overall emulates the type of service a customer would want.

In January I delivered my contribution check and paperwork to Advanta office in Largo FL. They lost it, check and paperwork and didn't bother to tell me even though multiple people were involved. I had to call to find out why the money wasn't in my account. I delivered a second check. Advanta supposedly send my contribution to the assigned third party. Advanta mentioned the check was endorsed yet didn't seem right. Well, my third party didn't receive the check and some how the check was deposited somewhere else. My third party had to do paperwork saying they didn't receive it, now i am being told I need to do paperwork and take the time to get a document notarized while the whole time I have no faith Advanta did their job in the first place yet I am the one having to do all this work. "Custodian" has taken a different meaning. Very frustrating.

My husband has been with them for about 5 years and I opened my account last year. We have been very pleased with them and a few years back, Monte spent an afternoon with us helping us decide which options would be best for us. Since then, I have recommended several people to them and the video's and info on their website is amazing.

WOW! is all I can say, after writing the below review I got a call in hopes to help, but right after that I was charged a termination fee of $32 plus another annual fee on an account I just closed. STAY AWAY!!!!Advanta IRA should be called Feevanta. Advanta charges nickel and dime fees and offers zero customer service. I've had issues with my account since I set it up and it's nearly impossible to get help. They work less than banker hours and always act as if they are doing you a favor by answering the phone. They get 2 stars because, there have been 1 or 2 instances where someone was completely unhelpful but at least pleasant.
