The mail person delivered my package to the wrong address on Saturday. I filed a claim online and went in person to the post office three days in a row. I was told the mail person would go today and see if they could retrieve my package and I would receive a call with the status. Did not receive a call and after trying to call 5 times though out the day no one has picked up. The package was a gift from a friend for my birthday which has been ruined by the USPS’ inability to communicate with it’s customers to solve an issue.

Don't bother trying to call. They won't answer, I tried 20 times. They also don't want to deliver to the address you've probably had for 20 years just because the driver doesn't know where it is.

Staff is not friendly at all. I said “Hello” woman did not even looked at me, man next to her didn’t say anything. I asked a man three times to check if my package is in the office like it says online. He didn’t move a muscle to do that. Instead he send me home and wait for it.

Avoid this post office at all costs if you can! I don't know where to begin with the amount of headaches this PO has caused us. They constantly misdeliver our packages, and there are a few packages we never see... They have no accountability. Forget putting your mail on hold because it will be delivered no matter what. Had mail on hold and had a package coming. Called the PO to ensure it would be held during the hold mail period, which they claimed it was being held at the PO. That same day, our neighbor saw the package delivered to our door. I have informed delivery, and we only get about half the mail it says we should be receiving. Have gone in to leave complaints, but the postmaster is supposedly never there (who is running this post office??), and have filled out many complaint slips only to never hear from them. For your sanity, please never deal with this post office! I wish we had any of the other post offices in Athens because anything would be better than this place.
Edited review: I want to commend Stephanie at this office for actively working to ensure my problems are corrected. She has rectified several of my package problems. So, thank you to her for the help (the reason I have added a star).

I have been missing checks from SSI and others from my mail as well as important documents. When I call to speak to someone, I go through all the prompts but then no one answers and I get hung up on. When I went to the post office itself, they were totally clueless. I left my name and information as well as the expected mail but never got a reply. I have the alert that notifies you about wheat mail is coming and what it looks like but many times it has no image. Then when I check the mail box, nothing is in there. What is going on? Is the carrier stealing my mail or dumping it out somewhere or placing it in the wrong box?

Very rude staff that does not help at all!! They always deliver my packages to the wrong mailbox and do not help when I try to figure out where the package is. The staff just jokes around while there is a line of people waiting.

I have a package that is missing but shows delivered on 4/19/24. Calling in to report the missing package, you have to go through the electronic process that does not help you get answers or talk with an individual USPS worker. This is very frustrating!!!!

Today was my 2nd time at this location. Last year I had my passport application appointment here. The clerk was very courteous and timely. She helped ensure my application forms were completed correctly and informed me about the details of every step in the process once my application was mailed.
Today I had to pick up a certified package that wasn't delivered and mail an international package. I came at 1pm, fearing it'd be busy. I was the only person in line, there were 2 clerks working, and they answered all my questions again. I only had to wait a few minutes to be helped. They even went out of their way to double check my international tracking concerns.
They're currently doing a lot of construction. I hope that helps alleviate past mailbox quality concerns. It looks like they could be expanding the clerk's desks to allow more people to help customers.
My only gripe is that I saw the postal worker deliver other mail to my home on my ring camera while I was home. But they didn't ring my doorbell to try & deliver my certified package. I wish I didn't have to come pick it up in person, but it helped me complete another errand I had put off.

My aunt mailed an envelope to me two weeks ago from this location, I live in Atlanta and still have not received the envelope. Normally whenever my aunt sends me something by mail it shows up in 2 days. Somebody working in that facility is stealing and they need to be locked up for tampering with the mail.

Package shown delivered but never delivered. Delivery person on my route in Athens steals packages. Sometimes throws them away so they don’t need to deliver them. A total disgrace and criminal behavior.

Always have a good experience here. Popular location due to extended hours, so sometimes the line is long. The workers here are helpful and get you on your way as quickly as possible.

Don’t plan on coming here with any level of expedition or haste. There is always an excuse. Always someone else’s fault. This is the worst post office I’ve set foot in and on average I’ll spend 30-45 minutes waiting when I come here. They often have 1 person working and no one else.The post Master should be fired or they need to hire more people; this is a disgrace… one lady doing passports and not a soul behind the counter otherwise.If you need to mail driving to Watkinsville is worth it.
