We enrolled our 11 year old and at first we were extremely happy with the school until there was an incident involving physical bullying that resulted in a concussion and hearing loss. Our child was attacked by a male classmate after our little girl turned him down when he requested for her to throw a ball for him as she was actively playing with another child. As she turned to continue playing, the boy in question, from behind stroke her across the head with a bat. The boy hit her and kept walking as if he had done nothing. As a result of getting hit in the head/ear my child lost her balance and started crying and the child she was playing with assisted her to the nurse’s station where they immediately called me.Once at the school, the nurse informed me that my little girl had been hit “by accident” even though the child told me that the boy had been harassing her earlier in the day as well as in previous weeks and months. From the very beginning of this incident, this school engaged actively in covering up the assault and insisted that my child’s injury was the result of that boy playing carelessly and actually implying that my child ear got too close to the batting boy when it was clear that the boy knew exactly where my child was ( he had just asked her if he could play) and hit her within seconds of her turning down his request to play with her.To our dismay and disappointment, we were later asked to sign an incident report (which we turned down) where the school completely dismissed the account of our little girl in favor of the bully that caused her a concussion. We really hate ending our relationship with SJS on this note and publicly denouncing the school as a place that actively tolerates bullying, but in our experience that was the case. The principal never bothered to speak with our child to hear her side of the story and instead relied solely and the aggresor’s side of the story which not surprisingly denied any wrongdoing.Based on everything that transpired since our child’s injury, it seems that SJS fosters an environment of lying and bullying where teachers and the administration staff collude with one another in an effort to maintain the facade of Christian values; all the while, in the long tradition of the Catholic Church, engaging in covering up and sweeping problems under their very old proverbial rug.

Outstanding! I sent my first child to P-K last year. The teacher has great communication skills. This is a must for first time moms! Now my child is reading books. The K teacher taught her how to read! Everyone is very kind, welcoming, and warming. She has a wealth of knowledge of the Catholic faith and loves Jesus. The teachers, principal, and staff has shaped my child’s confidence and future.

Our son has been attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School for 8 years and we have had a wonderful experience. The teachers have been supportive and nurturing and my son is more than ready academically to start high school.

This school is abusive. You wouldn't know from the outside, but the teachers and staff enjoy tormenting students. I went to school here and every day was awful. I hope that this comment can save another person from this awful experience. The worst are the administration and middle school teachers. I cannot emphasize how poorly this school is run. The middle school teachers literally enjoy tormenting the students on a daily basis. They lie to the parents and abuse the students. The principal demands money for ridiculous reasons. I would like to emphasize 2 teachers: Laura Ward and Sarah Rodriguez. They are both disgusting, arrogant, ignorant and abusive people. Every action they take is soley to cause harm to their students. ***the others reviewing this school are trying to cover this up***

This school lives up to its mission and vision. They have produced many students who are now leaders in the community and they’re successful. Students of SJS demonstrate Christian values, self-discipline, responsible and compassionately care for others. Definitely, they happy, holly and helpfu!

This school is such an amazing community to be apart of not only for the parents but as well the students. Their curriculum challenges the students in a way to better their education.
